On 21 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued a citation to Jason M. Dillon, age 28, 42063 Coolville Road, Reedsville, for traveling 91 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped Mr. Dillon on US 50 near Drag Strip Road in Belpre Township.

On 21 Mar 07 an employee of C & C Dodge Toyota, 1305 Pike Street, Marietta, reported overnight an unknown suspect(s) cut the catalytic converters out of eleven 4x4 sport utility vehicles on the car lot and also stole four aluminum rims from inside a storage building. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 21 Mar 07 a seventeen year old Vincent resident reported his stepmother slapped him across the face and pushed him out of the house. An investigation by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks concluded the stepmother disciplined the teenager for using profanity and because he hit his three year old stepbrother in the back of the head.

On 21 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested John A. McGee, age 54, 2035 Stanleyville Narrows Road, Whipple, for domestic violence. Mr. McGee’s live-in girlfriend Janet K. Longfellow, age 47, phoned for help following an assault that began with an argument over her son the previous night. Ms. Longfellow stated Mr. McGee began hugging her and apologizing for the incident but when she declined to accept the apology he commenced squeezing her harder and harder. Asking Mr. McGee to stop, Ms. Longfellow had difficulty breathing and suffered chest pains through the evening and into the day.

On 21 Mar 07 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Thomas R. Sarver, age 50, 12 Mill Lane, Watertown, for driving with fictitious registration. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Sarver on State Route 676 near Grove Avenue in Marietta Township.

Louis R. Cavillis, age 36, 122 Elmwood Avenue, Marietta, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $2,865.63.

Henry Chapman, age 29, 38-3 Forrest View Lane, Spencer, WV, for four counts of telephone harassment.

Jason H. Malone, age 29, 85 Forshey Road, Reno, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $3,010.80.

Lori McClaskey, age 36, 35B Islandview Drive, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of a protection order on 12 Mar 07.

Travis L. O’Brien, age 33, 189 Front Street, Mason, WV, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,069.90.

William L. Rowan, age 44, 5109 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $552.50.

Ronnie D. Snyder Jr., age 25, 908 Main Street Apt. E, Belpre, for failing to appear to serve three days in jail on 9 Mar 07.

David Wriston, age 22, 687 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for issuing a bad check to the Alibi Carryout for $32.20 on 3 Apr 06.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Corey Lee Smearman, age 18, 121 Cullen Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Smearman was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Titus of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 12:55 am.

Rhonda Drew Blair, age 40, PO Box 662, West Vanlear KY, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony. Blair was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 2:15 pm.

Herman Robert Lee Cline, age 26, 60 AE Miller Road, Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Cline was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 4:10 pm.

Tammy Lynn Whipkey, age 34, 60 AE Miller Road, Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Whipkey was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 4:40 pm.

Terry Wayne Gilley Jr., age 21, PO Box 162, Athens, WV, for theft, a felony. Gilley was picked up at the Page County, VA Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 7:10 pm.

John Alden McGee, age 54, 2035 Stanleyville Narrows Road, Whipple, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. McGee was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 7:58 pm.

James Clinton Bartimus, age 33, 804 Quincy Street, Parkersburg, for felony charges of possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs and misdemeanor charges of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bartimus was arrested on Hocking Road by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 8:00 pm.

William Michael Balser, age 40, 455 Charleston Drive Apt. C3, Ripley, WV, for driving under a suspended license and for possession of a false ID, both misdemeanors. Balser was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 8:40 pm.

Travis Eugene Sparks, age 24, 468 Phillips Street, Marietta, for felony charges of assault and three misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Sparks was arrested at Glendale Terrace by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 10:39 pm.

Buffy Suzzette Hopkins, age 31, 613 Lulu Street, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hopkins was arrested on Hocking Road by Patrolman Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 07 at 11:25 pm.
