On 15 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested
a fourteen year old Millers Lane resident for delinquency by
domestic violence. Angry he was asked to clean his room, the
juvenile pulled his mother’s hair then repeatedly punched
her in the face and back. With the aid of her daughter the
mother closed her son in his room while he bashed the door
with a baseball bat. As Deputies arrived at the residence the
juvenile broke through the door, at which time he was arrested
and transported to the Washington County Juvenile Detention
Center.
On 15 Mar 07 the owner of Pioneer Driving
School, 101 Seneca Drive, Marietta, a former employee failed
to return a DVD player and textbooks to the business upon being
terminated on 9 Jan 07. This case remains under investigation
(1203).
On 15 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to Donald E. Sheets, age 47, 565 Spears Hill Road,
Stockport, for having fictitious registration. Deputy Staats
stopped Mr. Sheets near milepost sixteen on State Route 550
in Warren Township.
On 15 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued
a citation to Beverly A. Lambert, age 39, 12260 State Route
339, Vincent, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Deputy
Reynolds stopped Ms. Lambert on State Route 339 near State
Route 550 in Barlow Township.
On 15 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole requested
a summons for Ricky Richardson Jr., age 18, 1608 Lakeview Drive
Apt. G, Newark, OH, for possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia. Stopping Natalia N. Cheng, age 19, 4702
Merrifield Place, Columbus, on Interstate 77 for traveling
90 mph in a 65 zone, Deputy Stackpole deployed his K-9 Aboo
for an exterior search. Aboo indicated the presence of drugs
in the vehicle and Mr. Richardson revealed to Deputy Stackpole
the locations of a smoking pipe and a small bag of marijuana.
On 15 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to an alarm at 499 Big Run Road, Cutler. The home, which is
the weekend and hunting residence of Dave Churry, age 49, 1996
New Albany Road, Blacklick, OH, was forcibly entered through
a side door. When Mr. Churry later arrived on the scene he
informed Deputy Smeeks that aside from the damage to the door
he suffered no loss due to the incident. This case remains
under investigation.

Tamara G. Sturm, age 38, 37321 State Route
145, Lower Salem, for failing to appear for a hearing on 13
Mar 07.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Lamont Walter Haywood, age 29, 1889 Marshall
Avenue, Huntington, WV, for trafficking in drugs, possession
of drugs and for permitting drug abuse, all felonies. Haywood
was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy
Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 15 Mar 07 at 8:57 am.
Tammy Gail Sturm, age 38, 329 Main Street, Lower Salem, for
failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Sturm turned herself in at
the courthouse to Captain Brum of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
15 Mar 07 at 9:57 am.
Ronald Dean Welch Jr., age 37, 209 Fearing Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Welch
was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Mar 07
at 5:58 pm.
Douglas Edward Carpenter, age 24, 4363 Williamstown Pike,
Williamstown, for driving under a suspended license, failure
to appear and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested on
Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 15 Mar 07 at 6:16 pm.
James Elton Buck, age 48, 401 Lancaster Street Apt. 3, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Buck was arrested at his residence by
Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Mar 07 at 7:59
pm.
