On 10 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded to the scene of death of an eighty-two year old Lowell resident. The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.

On 10 Mar 07 Michael Wells, age 27, 606 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, reported after a discussion ending their week long relationship, the twenty-eight year old woman he dated grabbed a knife and cut her wrists. Though her injuries were only superficial, the woman agreed to be transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation (905, 1001).

On 10 Mar 07 Lt. Wilson arrested Dustin Keith Venham, age 26, for driving under a suspended license and Seth T. Venham, age 21, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business. Lt. Wilson observed the vehicle in which the residents of 1060 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, were traveling accelerate into and through the Marietta Mills parking lot and conducted a traffic stop on North Hart Street. Prior to stopping, the younger Venham threw a bag out the window, which Lt. Wilson later discovered contained marijuana and a marijuana pipe.

On 10 Mar 07 Matthew D. Fogle, age 18, 223 Watertown Road, Waterford, reported between midnight and 4 am that morning his 1995 Yamaha Warrior ATV was stolen from where he parked it outside his home. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 10 Mar 07 a thirty-one year old Marietta resident reported receiving unwanted phone calls from an acquaintance. Sgt. Underwood closed this case as unfounded after determining the complainant’s wife is pregnant with the acquaintance’s child and that the victim’s wife has no problem with speaking to the suspect as long as the phone calls do not continue in excess.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Noel Matthew Fairchild, age 41, 101 Dye Circle, Marietta, for a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of theft. Fairchild was arrested at Bob Evans in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 07 at 1:15 am.

Dustin Keith Venham, age 26, 1060 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Venham was arrested in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 07 at 3:15 am.

Seth Taylor Venham, age 21, 1060 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors. Venham was arrested in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 07 at 3:15 am.

Alvie John Sarver, age 48, Marietta, for inducing panic, a felony. Sarver was arrested at the Super 8 Motel in Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 07 at 8:00 am.
