On 9 Mar 07 an employee of the Coal Run Post
Office, 540 Coal Run Drive, Coal Run, reported overnight an
unknown suspect(s) entered the building by prying open two
doors. Inside the suspects opened cabinet doors, threw mail
on the floor and left the building in disarray. This case remains
under investigation (296).
DICE TEAM K-9 OFFICER SEIZES 71 GRAMS OF COCAINE

Officer Scott Smeeks apprehended two suspects traveling southbound
on Interstate 77 at Milepost 6 who were in possession of over
71 grams of cocaine. The cocaine has a street value of approximately
$7,500. The two suspects Jeremy B. Green, age 26, 551 College
Parkway, Apartment 202, Parkersburg, WV and Chad M. Hatfield,
age 23, 9235 Radcliffe Road, Adamsville, OH were stopped for
a traffic violation. Deputy Smeeks detected an odor of alcohol
coming from the vehicle and had the driver exit the vehicle
to determine his sobriety. Dutch, Smeeks’ K-9 was deployed
and gave a positive indication of narcotics in the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a burnt marijuana “roach” in
the ashtray and 71 grams of cocaine inside a coat pocket lying
on the back seat. A field test indicated cocaine. The individuals
were interviewed by an agent from the Major Crimes Team and
indicated the cocaine had been purchased in Zanesville for
resale in Parkersburg. The vehicle used to transport the cocaine
and $280 in cash was also seized. Both suspects have been charged
with possession of cocaine and are incarcerated in the Washington
County Jail awaiting an initial appearance in Marietta Municipal
Court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Carlos Roberto Munoz Jr., age 33, 612 Ninth
Street, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Munoz was arrested at the Locker Room in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 2:05 am.
Ryan Logan Patel, age 27, 215 Oakwood Avenue,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Patel was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at
1:26 pm.
Mona Crystal Chesnutt, age 47, 12020 Waterford Road, Waterford,
for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Chesnutt
was arrested at Kmart in Marietta by Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at
2:36 pm.
Jeremy Burgin Green, age 26, 551 College Parkway Apt. 22,
Parkersburg, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Green
was arrested near exit six on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff
Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar
07 at 5:45 pm.
Chad Michael Hatfield, age 23, 9235 Radcliffe Road, Adamsville,
OH, for possession of drugs, a felony. Hatfield was arrested
near exit six on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 7:20
pm.
Daniel Lewis Barrack, age 21, 8500 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem,
for driving under an FRA suspended license and speeding, both
misdemeanors. Barrack was arrested near milepost seventeen
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 7:35 pm.
Gary Lee Jackson Jr., age 25, Marietta, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Jackson was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 10:35 pm.
Aaron Freeman Farnsworth, age 22, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was arrested in Marietta by
Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 11:15
pm.
Dallas Wiley Farnsworth, age 33, 266 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was arrested in Marietta by
Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Mar 07 at 11:15
pm.
David Denver Teeters II, age 23, Amsterdam, OH, for a felony
charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession
of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and not having license
plates. Teeters was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 9 Mar 07 at 11:15 pm.
