On 5 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Spencer requested
warrants for Bill H. Rhodes, age 42, 820 Mill Branch Road,
Belpre, for domestic violence and aggravated menacing. Arriving
home intoxicated, Mr. Rhodes instigated an argument with his
wife Tammy, age 42, over their son’s purchase of a truck.
At one point Mr. Rhodes grabbed a large kitchen knife and pointed
it at his wife in a threatening manner. A friend of the Rhodes’ son,
Cory McCullors, age 19, 1604 Hill Street Apt. 18, Belpre, intervened
after Mr. Rhodes dropped the knife and the two struggled to
the floor. Mr. Rhodes arose, broke a beer bottle off below
the neck and threatened to cut Mr. McCullors’ throat.
Tempers subsided and Mr. Rhodes fled into the woods prior to
the arrival of Deputies.
On 5 Mar 07 Sherri J. Merckle, age 44, 208
Main Street, New Matamoras, reported between 1 and 3 am that
morning an unknown suspect damaged the windshield and completely
shattered the rear window of her 1992 Pontiac Firebird. This
case remains under investigation (296).
On 5 Mar 07 Timothy A. Wittekind, age 33,
13768 State Route 339, Waterford, reported sometime since Friday
morning an unknown suspect(s) stole a Yamaha Kodiak ATV from
his front yard. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 5 Mar 07 an employee of Moore’s Paving,
1077 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta, reported over the weekend
an unknown suspect(s) cut and removed 150 feet of copper wiring
connecting machinery at the business. This case remains under
investigation (515).
On 5 Mar 07 June M. Miller, age 36, 212 Washington
Street Apt. 2, Marietta, reported being threatened by her friend’s
sixteen year old son while visiting his residence on Woodcrest
Lane in Marietta. Retrieving stored property from the home’s
basement, Ms. Miller noticed several items were missing. Also
missing property, the juvenile’s father searched his
son’s room and discovered several stolen items as well
as drug paraphernalia. When confronted upon his arrival home
from school, the juvenile flew into a fit of rage. The teenager
began cursing and grabbed a pair of scissors and made stabbing
motions toward the adults. The juvenile then fled outside,
picked up a sickle and threatened to harm the adults and himself
before his temper finally subsided. In consequence, Deputy
Sheriff Simmons requested a summons for the juvenile to appear
in Juvenile Court for delinquency by menacing.

Street, Athens, for speeding on 4 Feb 07.
Joey D. Brooks, age 18, 1187 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, for
possession of criminal tools on 22 Feb 07.
Jabari N. Hawthorne, age 21, 176 Second Street, Athens, for
driving under a suspended license on 3 Feb 07.
Robert L. Hysell Jr., age 23, 304 Blennerhassett Avenue Lot
5, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license on 13 Feb
07.
Frederick G. McKitrick, age 24, 3010 Burnett Road, Cutler,
for failing to appear for pretrial on 21 Feb 07.
Raleigh R. Robinson, age 30, 7 Monroe Street, Chauncey, OH,
for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for pretrial
on 12 Feb 07.
Carlos R. Munoz, age 33, 612 Ninth Street, Marietta, for contempt
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order
to show cause on 27 Feb 07.
Sonya Coe, age 44, 825 Saint Marys Avenue, Marietta, for failing
to appear for a hearing on 27 Feb 07.
Roy D. McElfresh, age 23, 708 Goddard Road, Cutler, for failing
to appear for a hearing on 27 Feb 07.
James L. Way, age 36, 416 Franklin Street, Marietta, for failing
to appear for a hearing on 27 Feb 07.
Chasity D. Willey, age 30, 634 South Eighth Street, Cambridge,
for failing to appear for a hearing on 27 Feb 07.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jennifer Nicole Huddleston, age 27, 632 Cisler
Drive, Marietta, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor.
Huddleston was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office by Sgt.
Gherke and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar
07 at 11:00 am.
Joseph Carl Morehouse, age 43, 19639 State Route 550, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Morehouse
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 07 at 1:30 pm.
Elton Dean Hart Jr., age 31, 2701 State Route 83, Hackney,
OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Hart was picked up at the Washington
County line near McConnelsville by Captain Ketelsen of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 07 at 2:25 pm.
Scott Lee Carpenter, age 44, 413 Third Street, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter
was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Mar 07 at 9:05 pm.
Diego Rivera Gomez, age 24, 347 ½ Pike Street, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Gomez was arrested in
Marietta by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 07 at
10:00 pm.
