On 2 Mar 07 the owner of Arnold’s Machine
Shop, 101 Simpson Street, Marietta, reported overnight an unknown
suspect(s) entered the business by removing a window and stole
a container of change from the refrigerator and a set of copper
welding leads. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 2 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued
a citation to Matthew V. Burkhammer, age 35, 4469 Henry Camp
Road, Saint Marys, for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Deputy Reynolds stopped Mr. Burkhammer after he failed to stop
at the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 807 in
Newport Township.
On 2 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Krista M. Sparks, age 28, 2309 Latrobe Street,
Parkersburg, for traveling 49 mph in a 35 mph zone. Deputy
Mankins stopped Ms. Sparks on Masonic Park Road near Woodrow
Avenue in Muskingum Township.
On 2 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to a domestic violence complaint at the residence of Charus
L. Bennett, age 34, 29795 State Route 7, Marietta. Mr. Bennett’s
sixteen and seventeen year old sons stated their father was
upset when he arrived home and that he began yelling and slapped
them both in the face. The youngest son also indicated his
father grabbed his shirt and threw him into a coffee table.
Viewing the juveniles’ injuries, Deputy Smeeks requested
a warrant for Mr. Bennett for domestic violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Aaron Francis Haney, age 21, McConnelsville,
for violating the terms of his probation, disorderly conduct
by fighting, obstructing official business and resisting arrest,
all misdemeanors. Haney was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta
by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 07 at
2:34 am.
Bernard Lowell Knotts, age 54, 205 Gibbons
Place, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Knotts was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Mar 07 at 9:39 am.
Michael Clint Dotson, age 29, 206 Sixth Street, Williamstown,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Dotson was arrested at Flexmag in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 07 at 4:06 pm.
