On 22 Feb 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued a citation to George K. Church, age 45, 54322 State Route 681, Reedsville, for driving with tags that expired in Dec 06. Deputy Reynolds stopped Mr. Church on US 50 near Drag Strip Road in Belpre Township.

On 22 Feb 07 Lt. Huffer issued a citation to Justin R. Anderson, age 18, 378 Anderson Road, Fleming, for failing to stop at a stop sign. Lt. Huffer stopped Mr. Anderson after he failed to stop on Anderson Road at the intersection of State Route 550 in Barlow Township.

On 22 Feb 07 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Noal D. Quattlebaum, age 20, 2901 Wells Road, Waterford, for having an inoperable license plate light. Noticing several passengers with criminal histories, Deputy Evans requested Deputy Smeeks conduct an exterior canine sniff of the vehicle. Once the canine indicated the presence of drugs, the Deputies began an interior search and located marijuana, drug paraphernalia, two pairs of bolt cutters, thirty feet of copper wire, flashlights, gloves, a screwdriver and other various tools and property. The driver nor the passengers, Eric E. Luke, age 20, 309 Lord Street, Marietta, Joey D. Brooks, age 18, 1187 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, and John L. Lindsey, age 30, 230 East Henniger Road, Lowell, could not explain the presence of the tools and other property in the vehicle. As a result, Deputy Evans requested warrants for each suspect for possession of criminal tools.

On 22 Feb 07 an employee of Moore’s Paving, 1077 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta, reported when he arrived at the business that morning he noticed one of the company’s trucks was burned beyond repair. This case will be forwarded to the Fire Marshall’s Office for further investigation.

On 22 Feb 07 Patricia P. Osborne, age 62, 876 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, reported sometime after 1 am an unknown suspect stole a 1989 Chevy truck from her property. Deputy Sheriff Rhodes later located the vehicle, which was involved in a traffic crash on Michaelis Road, and was heavily damaged. This case remains under investigation.

On 22 Feb 07 Bernard Schmitt, age 48, 112 Lee Avenue, Marietta, reported he either lost a check payable to him from the local railroad union or it was stolen from his vehicle sometime during the previous day. This case remains under investigation (1293).

Dayman S. Brown, age 27, 201 Lunder Street, Latrobe, PA, for failing to appear for pretrial on 7 Feb 07.

Chad A. Burdette, age 24, 131 Clark Street, Marietta, for failing to appear for pretrial on 30 Jan 07.

Leslie Y. Carter, age 34, 1241 Woodland Drive, Charleston, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $370.50.

Clarence M. Coulverson, age 35, 2100 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for pretrial on 5 Feb 07.

Holly R. Criss, age 36, PO Box 11904, Chandler, AZ, for failing to pay Marietta city taxes by 15 Apr 05.

Charles B. Davis, age 31, 145 Turkey Knob Road, Newport, for failing to appear to serve three days in jail o 19 Jan 07.

Nathan W. Davis, 775 Turkey Hollow Rod, Cutler, for issuing a bad check for $106 to Napoli’s Pizza on 29 Oct 06.

William E. Deford Jr., age 35, 120 Walker Street, Marietta, for the theft of snack cakes and a tire pressure gauge from the Pit Stop on 27 Jan 07.

Cadarius J. Holland, age 20, 623 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for failing to appear for jury trial on 25 Jan 07.

Joshua A. Manley, age 19, 307 Lee Street Apt. 3D, Belpre, for possessing less than 100 grams of marijuana on 23 Dec 06.

Raliegh R. Robinson Jr., age 30, 7 Monroe Street, Chauncey, OH, for failing to appear for pretrial on 12 Feb 07.

Kenneth R. Sparks, age 29, 319 Simpson Street, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve seven days in jail on 19 Oct 06.

Jessica L. Stevens, age 25, 21763 State Route 7 Unit D, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve twenty-seven days in jail on 19 Feb 07.

Robert L. Trout, age 28, 304 Blennerhassett Avenue Lot 8, Belpre, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $619.45.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

John Lewis Lindsey II, age 30, 230 Henniger Road, Lowell, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Lindsey was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Feb 07 at 1:56 am.

John Matthew Heldman, age 28, 1348 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for making a U-turn, both misdemeanors. Heldman was arrested on Clement Avenue in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Feb 07 at 5:10 am.

Joseph Erin O’Brien, age 21, 650 King Avenue, Bartlett, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. O’Brien was arrested on State Route 550 by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Feb 07 at 11:25 pm.
