On 18 Feb 07 Cathy Mahoney, age 48 4755 Waterford
Road, Marietta, reported her daughter Rebecca D. Gessel, age
24, was brandishing a large kitchen knife and threatening to
harm herself. Upset that her mother would not drive her to
Beverly, Ms. Gessel scratched herself with a pair of scissors
then threw them at he mother. Ms. Mahoney stated her daughter
then grabbed the knife and held it to her own throat, yelling
she would kill herself or someone else. Deputy Sheriff McLeish
found Ms. Gessel in a more subdued state, arrested her for
aggravated menacing and transported her to the Washington County
Jail.
On 18 Feb 07 Arnold L. Hartline, age 42, 1045
Sandhill Road Lot 14, Marietta, reported subsequent to lending
two snow shovels to a neighbor, two juveniles took the shovels
and returned them with broken handles. This case remains under
investigation (1184).
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Felicia Christine Jackson, age 25, 652 Robinson Hill Road,
Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of her
parole and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Jackson was arrested on Front
Street in Marietta by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Feb 07 at 2:30 am.
Christopher S. Kowatch, age 21, 4762 State Route 982, Latrobe,
PA, for criminal mischief and for criminal damaging/endangering,
both misdemeanors. Kowatch was arrested at Marietta College
by Officer Ruble of the Marietta College Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07
at 3:10 am.
Robert Burtman Long IV, age 21, 151 First Street, Zoar, OH,
for OVI, failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer,
for driving left of center and for not wearing a seat belt,
all misdemeanors.
Long was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07 at 3:45 am.
Chad Randolph Chafe, age 25, 273 Sabrina Way SE, Calgary,
Alberta, for OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors. Chafe was
arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Hickey of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07 at 5:15 am.
Michael Edward Szewczyk, age 34, 164 Meadow Drive, Elyria,
OH, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Szewczyk was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Feb 07 at 11:00 am.
Daniel Lee Winstanley Jr., age 31, 112 King Avenue, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Winstanley turned himself
in to Patrolman McCracken at the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07
at 11:00 am.
Howard Edward Baker, age 35, 323 Seventh Street, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license and for having fictitious
plates, both misdemeanors. Baker was arrested near the intersection
of Seventh and Wayne Streets in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18
Feb 07 at 11:45 am.
David Allen Sayres, age 42, Marietta, for disorderly conduct
by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Sayres was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07
at 2:25 pm.
David Sheehy Burns, age 30, 207 Barber Street, Marietta, for
OVI, having faulty equipment and possession of drugs, all misdemeanors.
Burns was arrested in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07
at 9:20 pm.
Rebecca Dawn Gessel, age 23, 45077 Waterford Road Apt. 1,
Marietta, for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Gessel was
arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 07 at 9:45 pm.
