On 1 Feb 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested Brenda L. Miller, age 39, 1001 Colonial Terrace Apt. B, Marietta, for OVI and for failing to reinstate her operator’s license. Stopped for failing to obey a traffic control device, Ms. Miller stumbled several times after she exited her car and had a strong odor of alcohol. Following her poor performance on field sobriety tests Ms. Miller was transported to the Washington County Jail where she tested .119% BAC.

On 1 Feb 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued a citation to Carmen C. Kramer, age 48, 1281 East Fork Road, Lower Salem, for operating without a valid license. Deputy Reynolds stopped Ms. Kramer on US 50 near State Route 124 in Belpre Township.

On 1 Feb 07 Douglas W. Biss, age 48, 8431 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem, reported a duffel bag containing clothes, a digital camera and cellular phone was stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Whipple Baptist Church, 6825 State Route 821, Whipple, while he was driving a church bus between 7:30 and 11:30 on 28 Jan 07. This case remains under investigation (529).

On 1 Feb 07 Kacey Terrell, age 20, 124 Buells Circle, Marietta, reported a male and a female, purporting to be representatives of Children’s Services, entered her home under the pretext that they were investigating alleged child abuse. Concerned, Ms. Terrell phoned Children’s Services and was informed no such case exists. This case remains under investigation (500).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Douglas Leon Roser, age 44, 228 Pike Street Apt. 7, Marietta, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license and speeding. Roser was arrested near milepost twenty-five on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 1:55 am.

Brenda Leann Miller, age 39, 1001 Colonial Terrace Apt. B, Marietta, for OVI and for failing to reinstate her operator’s license, both misdemeanors. Miller was arrested at the intersection of Third and Greene Streets in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 3:00 am.

Samuel Sterling Joseph, age 30, 840 Pike Street, Apt. 42, Marietta, for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license and for failure to signal, all misdemeanors. Joseph was arrested near milepost twenty-five on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 3:50 am.

Carol Lynn Alsept, age 45, 3570 Oak Hill Road, Stockport, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Alsept was arrested on State Route 60 in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 3:45 pm.

Timothy Paul Charlton, age 25, 1108 Third Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Charlton was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 5:24 pm.

Thomas Michael Emerick, age 37, 1421 Lancaster Street Apt. 103I, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Emerick was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 8:45 pm.

Mark Thompson, age 36, 708 Eighth Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Thompson was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 07 at 9:23 pm.
