On 30 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute involving Robert F. Shockey
III, age 21, 10060 State Route 550, Vincent, and his live-in
girlfriend Jennifer F. Morris, age 20. Mr. Shockey stated his
girlfriend swung a box cutter at him after he attempted to
deescalate an argument by pouring a gallon of Kool-Aid over
her head. Ms. Morris admitted swinging the box cutter but said
she did so only after Mr. Shockey knocked her to the floor
and threatened her. As a result, Deputy Smeeks arrested both
Mr. Shockey and Ms. Morris for domestic violence and transported
them to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 Jan 07 Lt. Canavan issued a citation
to a seventeen year old Beverly resident for driving without
headlights. Lt. Canavan stopped the juvenile at 9:05 pm near
milepost twenty on State Route 60 in Waterford Township.
On 30 Jan 07 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to William C. Carpenter, age 64, 305 Alloway Road, Little Hocking,
for driving with expired plates. Sgt. Underwood stopped Mr.
Carpenter on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre.
On 30 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats requested
a summons for Darnell Barlow, age 18, 3558 School House Road,
Little Hocking, for sexual imposition. Deputy Staats’ affidavit
alleges, while riding the bus home from school, Mr. Barlow
kissed the neck and breast of a fourteen year old female despite
her repeated requests for him to stop.
On 30 Jan 07 Bonnie Cremeans, age 69, 1396
Hocking Road, Little Hocking, reported while she was away from
home for twenty-four hours an unknown suspect(s) forced open
a rear door to her home and stole twenty-four hydrocodone pills
from a prescription bottle on the kitchen counter. This case
remains under investigation (515).
On 30 Jan 07 a witness reported noticing a
suspicious vehicle parked at the nearby church and then hearing
a loud bang coming from the home of Robert Fulton, age 47,
11499 State Route 821, Whipple. Three males the ran from the
victim's residence, one of which was carrying a crowbar and
another a wooden stick. She was able to identify one of the
males as Aaron Fulton, age 20, 214 Wooster Street, Marietta,
and then called with a description of the vehicle.
While en route Sgt. Underwood and Lt. Wilson observed a vehicle
matching the description of the suspects and conducted a traffic
stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Stanleyville Narrows
Rd and State Route 821. The vehicle was occupied by the defendants
that matched the witness' description of the perpetrators.
The suspects were informed of their Miranda Rights and questioned
about the burglary that had just occurred at the above address.
Aaron Fulton admitted to entering the garage of the victim,
Roger Fulton, in search of marijuana. Derick Simpkins, age
19, 510 ½ Cutler Street Apt. 4, Marietta, admitted to
entering the victim's residence and witnessing Aaron break
open the basement door of the victim's house. Mr. Simpkins
further stated Kevin Hess, age 19, 288 Ridgewood Court Apt.
E, Marietta, also entered the victim's residence with him and
Aaron. The Deputies also determined the driver of the vehicle,
Robert Wanzo, age 19, 115 Barber Street, Marietta, knew the
other suspects were going to break into the victim's residence
and was to blow the horn of the vehicle if he saw any law enforcement
in the area. The defendant's entered the residence and took
a plastic bag of marijuana and a metal tin containing change,
both of which the victim verified were his.
All four suspects were charged with burglary, possession of
criminal tools and breaking and entering to commit theft and
were transported to the Washington County Jail. Aaron Fulton
was additionally charged with possession of drugs, having been
found with the plastic bag of marijuana in his pants.

Bobby L. Cantwell, age 32, 324 Second Street,
Macksburg, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $208.
James M. Cantwell, age 34, 301 Broad Street, Macksburg, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $514.70.
Jeremy D. Carpenter, age 28, 700 Barclay Street Apt. 1, Belpre,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $189.40.
Joshua A. Littleton, age 24, 13 500 Street Apt. 38, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $52.
Mark A. McIntyre, age 25, 1421 Lancaster Street, Marietta,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $341.90.
Michael L. Roux, age 35, 506 Pike Street Apt. 246, Marietta,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $736.90.
Paulina S. Thomas, age 41, 5 Putnam Place, Marietta, for contempt
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $331.50.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sean Michaele Masten, age 19, 26 Captain Neals
Court, Parkersburg, for OVI and for operating with an expired
license, both misdemeanors. Masten was arrested on Seventh
Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 2:14 am.
Jennifer Faye Morris, age 20, 10060 State
Route 550, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Morris
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 4:30
pm.
Robert F. Shockey III, age 21, 10060 State Route 550, Vincent,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Shockey was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 4:30 pm.
Aaron Robert Fulton, age 20, 214 Wooster Street, Marietta,
for felony charges of burglary, possession of criminal tools
and breaking and entering to commit theft and a misdemeanor
charge of possession of drugs. Fulton was arrested on State
Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 5:10 pm.
Kevin Matthew Hess, age 19, 288 Ridgewood Court Apt. E, Marietta,
for burglary, possession of criminal tools and breaking and
entering to commit theft, all felonies. Hess was arrested on
State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 5:25 pm.
Robert Corey Wanzo, age 19, 115 Barber Street, Marietta, for
burglary, possession of criminal tools and breaking and entering
to commit theft, all felonies. Wanzo was arrested on State
Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 5:40 pm.
Derick Eugene Simpkins, age 19, 510 ½ Cutler Street
Apt. 4, Marietta, for burglary, possession of criminal tools
and breaking and entering to commit theft, all felonies. Simpkins
was arrested on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 07 at 5:50
pm.
Ryan Brett Francisco, age 21, 1205 14th Street, Parkersburg,
for driving under a suspended license and for failure to obey
the right of way, both misdemeanors. Francisco was arrested
in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
30 Jan 07 at 11:45 pm.
