On 29 Jan 07 Jeffrey J. Smith, age 25, 637 Ross Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime during the past four days an unknown suspect(s) entered his locked detached garage by removing a window screen and stole a Honda ATV. This case remains under investigation (515).

On 29 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested Matthew J. Siley, age 31, 108 Shamrock Drive, Marietta, for misuse of a credit card. In December 2006 a Grove City, OH resident reported the credit card was used to accrue $997.90 in charges to a phone sex service. Deputy Smeeks then traced one of the two phone numbers used to Mr. Siley’s home address. Confronted with the facts, Mr. Siley admitted using the credit card and said he guessed the number and continued to use it until it was canceled.

On 29 Jan 07 Carl D. Sealey, age 40, 1077 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, reported while he was out of town for the past eight days his 1988 Pontiac Bonneville was stolen from his property. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 29 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Eric S. Valentine, age 36, 1005 Cornerville Road, Reno, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for parking in handicap parking. Deputy Evans issued the citation to Mr. Valentine at Speedway on Seventh Street in Marietta.

On 29 Jan 07 the owner of Trade Mark Solutions, 2167B State Route 821, Marietta, reported an unknown individual used her company’s credit card number to purchase $4734.49 in products in Nebraska, Michigan and New Zealand. This case remains under investigation (8411).

On 29 Jan 07 three employees of Marietta Bible College, 470 State Route 60, Marietta, reported the father of a grade school aged student continued to phone the school and personal numbers of them despite their repeated pleas for him to stop doing so. At the scene Deputy Sheriff Evans was present when Henry Chapman, age 29, 38-3 Forrest View Lane, Spencer, WV, phoned three more times. As a result of Mr. Chapman’s actions, Deputy Evans requested a summons for him for four counts of telephone harassment.

Misty D. Smith, age 28, 717 Greene Street Apt. B, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation by failing to show proof of obtaining a valid operator’s license or to serve ten days in jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Haley Jordan House, age 19, 764 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. House was arrested on Mill Branch Road by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 12:12 am.

Bernard Henry Moore, age 41, 2650 Center Avenue Apt. 203, Pittsburgh, PA, for speeding and for driving under a suspended license, both misdemeanors. Moore was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 10:56 am.

Norman David Kennedy, age 21, Marietta, for speeding, for failing to obey the right of way and for two counts of failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer, all misdemeanors. Kennedy was arrested at a residence on Riley Drive in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 11:28 am.

Matthew Joseph Siley, age 31, 108 Shamrock Drive, Marietta, for misuse of a credit card, a felony. Siley was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 2:11 pm.

Douglas Gene Snider Jr., age 33, 110 Split Rock Drive, for felony charges of violating the terms of his parole, theft and forgery and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Snider was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 2:56 pm.

Joshua Eric Burkhart, age 18, 655 Goose Run Road, Marietta, for assault and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Burkhart was arrested on Vine Street in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 3:22 pm.

Ruthie Dulcia Scoggan, age 20, 330 Franklin Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Scoggan was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 07 at 6:41 pm.
