On 26 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman responded
to a disturbance at Mar Ren Apartments, 122 Tennis Center Drive,
Marietta. Witnesses stated Chad Williams, age 25, 4492 Anderson
Road, Fleming, was chasing a cat with what appeared to be an
aluminum bat. When confronted by a resident about the illegality
of beating a cat Mr. Williams replied with expletives. Due
to Mr. Williams’ actions, Deputy Norman issued him a
minor misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct.
On 26 Jan 07 Ken Hart, age 85, 4443 State
Route 339, Belpre, reported when two evicted tenants moved
from the two trailers he owns at 4299 State Route 339, Belpre
they took without permission three window air conditioners
and two gas stoves. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 26 Jan 07 Douglas R. Thieman, age 39, 1851
Pottmeyer Road, Waterford, reported sometime during the past
ten days a large portion of pills were stolen from his newly
filled prescription for clonazepam. This case remains under
investigation (1203).
On 26 Jan 07 Alicia Hubbard, age 36, 9322
Federal Road, Cutler, reported her son’s Honda dirt bike
was stolen from an open faced building on her property sometime
since the afternoon of 21 Jan 07. This case remains under investigation
(586).
On 26 Jan 07 Angela Harshberger, age 39, 9507
Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported between 11 pm the previous
night and 8 am that morning her 1991 Chevy Astrovan was stolen
from its parking spot across the street. This case remains
under investigation (586).
On 26 Jan 07 Lt. Wilson and Deputy Sheriff
Rhodes investigated a disturbance at 510 Carson Lane Apt. B,
Belpre. On the scene they were told that one of the residents,
Jerry D. Coleman, age 45, was one of the individuals involved
and left on foot. Lt. Wilson spotted Mr. Coleman and ordered
him to stop but he fled into the woods. Mr. Coleman stopped
a short distance later and was found in possession of marijuana,
rolling papers and a blue pill. As a result, Mr. Coleman was
arrested for obstructing official business, possession of drugs
and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the
Washington County Jail.
On 26 Jan 07 John Graham, age 48, 160 Graham
Road, Cutler, reported he noticed two sets of footprints that
he believes were left by individuals attempting to steal a
trailer from his property. This case remains under investigation
(586).
On 26 Jan 07 Deanna Knapp, age 52, 28 Knapp
Road, Fleming, reported her estranged husband Keith, age 44,
50883 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom, was at her residence
attempting to remove property and causing a disturbance. Mrs.
Knapp stated she let the air out of one of her husband’s
tires to keep him from leaving with a horse trailer and horses.
In retaliation Mr. Knapp grabbed a log splitter and broke the
glass from ten windows and doors on the home, close to where
Mrs. Knapp’s mother was standing in proximity. Mr. Knapp
succeeded that by entering the residence, retrieving a kitchen
knife and then stormed by Mrs. Knapp’s mother and brother
and attempted to stab the living room sofa. Mrs. Knapp’s
brother and mother both stated they feared for their safety
during the glass breaking and couch stabbing incidents despite
Mr. Knapp’s claim he had no intention of harming anyone.
As a result, Mr. Knapp was arrested for two counts of aggravated
menacing and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jerry Allen Murphy Jr., age 24, 7605 Ross
Road, New Carlisle, OH, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Murphy was arrested at the office of Probation Officer
Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jan
07 at 11:25 am.
Cody Allen Shook, age 18, 42 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for
felonious assault. Shook turned himself in to Lt. Coppernoll
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jan
07 at 3:15 pm.
Keith Scott Knapp, age 44, 50883 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom,
for two misdemeanor counts of aggravated menacing. Knapp was
arrested at a residence on Knapp Road in Fleming by Lt. Huffer
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jan 07 at 3:40 pm.
Matthew Scott Feathers, age 23, 635 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for using a weapon while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Feathers
was arrested at his residence by Detective Sirianni of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 26 Jan 07 at 4:35 pm.
David Arthur Prescott II, age 18, 478 Eastland Road, Berea,
OH, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Prescott
was arrested at a residence on Seventh Street in Marietta by
Officer Smithberger of the Marietta College Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jan 07
at 9:24 pm.
