On 21 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Collins began
an investigation into the theft of items from two unlocked
vehicles at 3617 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta. Stolen from
the vehicle of Tracey Wears, age 35, was under seven dollars
in change and from Mark Smith, age 43, was his wallet containing
$900, credit cards and driver’s license.
On 21 Jan 07 Gary L. Quimby, age 63, 25 Franklin
Street, Waterford, reported since locking his storage building
at 4:00 the previous afternoon an unknown suspect(s) entered
the building and stole a .22 caliber rifle and a roll of underground
wire, a combined loss of $1,650. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 21 Jan 07 Carla M. O’Neill, age 36,
115 Deer Haven Road, Marietta, reported she was awakened that
night by her live-in boyfriend, Joseph W. Myers, age 29, pulling
her hair and attempting to drag her outside the house. Intoxicated
and upset that Ms. O’Neill moved to another bedroom to
sleep, Mr. Myers broke a number of items and tore the phone
cord from the wall. Attempts to locate Mr. Myers were unsuccessful,
therefore Deputy Sheriff Morris requested a warrant for him
for domestic violence.
On 21 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole investigated
a two-vehicle collision on State Route 7 near Mitchell’s
Lane. Thomas M. Kuhn, age 48, 100 Arborgate Drive, Marietta
was driving his Mazda Protégé northbound when
a southbound Geo Tracker driven by James E. Moore, age 28,
1270 Federal Road, Little Hocking, traveled across the roadway
and crashed into his front left fender. Both vehicles sustained
significant damage despite the relatively slow speed of 30
mph. Neither party reported injuries.
On 21 Jan 07 Deanna L. Knapp, age 52, 28 Knapp
Road, Fleming, reported during the last three months of 2006
a family member wrote three checks, totaling $611, on her personal
account without permission. This case remains under investigation
(1097).
On 21 Jan 07 the Sheriff’s Office began
an investigation into an assault perpetrated at 302 Bohl Drive
in Marietta that resulted in a Mineral Wells resident being
stabbed in the back several times. Attending a party with friends
at the aforementioned address, Craig R. Clark, age 21, Route
1 Box 49, informed the investigating officers he observed a
group of eight to ten people enter the home and that one of
the male group members pushed and punched a female friend.
Mr. Clark stated he attempted to intervene, at which time a
large brawl erupted and he was taken to the floor. Unknown
to Mr. Clark during the melee, an unknown individual stabbed
him in the upper back with an unidentified implement. The suspect
then fled with the group while Mr. Clark left for home. Some
time later Mr. Clark checked into Camden Clark Hospital where
he received treatment for injuries and was released. The Washington
County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau executed a search
warrant at 302 Bohl Drive and obtained forensic evidence pertaining
to the alleged crime. The Sheriff’s Office requests individuals
with information pertaining to this incident to phone Detective

wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kevin Allen Wooddell, age 39, 606 Cross Street, Belpre, for
OVI and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Wooddell
was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 21 Jan 07 at 3:00 am.
