On 16 Jan 07 Keith E. Brum, age 74, 328 Muskingum
Drive, Marietta, reported sometime since 11 Jan an unknown
suspect(s) forcibly entered his workshop at 1685 Tick Hill
Road, Lowell. Once inside the suspect(s) did not steal anything
but caused substantial damage to the drywall and left the area
in disarray. This case remains under investigation (529).
On 16 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
a citation to Samantha J. Sampson, age 20, 365 South 14th Street,
McConnelsville, for traveling 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Morris stopped Ms. Sampson near milepost fourteen on State
Route 60 in Adams Township.
On 16 Jan 07 Shirley A. Eddy, age 57, 4057
Burnett Road, Cutler, reported after a brief confrontation,
her daughter Tammy Reed, age 38, 440 Short Brook Road, Vincent,
nearly struck her with her car. In attempt to prompt her daughter
to leave her property, Ms. Eddy bent down to release the air
from her daughter’s front tire. Ms. Reed then backed
her vehicle up several feet then accelerated forward, stopping
a foot from her mother. No one was injured during the incident,
however Deputy Sheriff Reynolds requested a summons for Ms.
Reed for disorderly conduct.
On 16 Jan 07 Diane E. Dobbins, age 39, 114
Core Road, Parkersburg, reported after being contacted by a
collection agency she believes her now deceased sister used
her personal information to accrue nearly $6,700 in charges
on a Verizon account between 1997 and 2000. This case remains
under investigation (8411).
On 16 Jan 07 a forty-four year old Marietta
resident reported being repeatedly scratched by her fourteen
year old son. The victim stated her son was screaming, cursing
and began breaking some of his thirteen year old sister’s
things. When his sister intervened the suspect grabbed her
hair and scratched her arms as she tried to escape. The mother
intervened, pulling her son away and was scratched by her son
in the process. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Collins requested
a summons for the juvenile to appear in Juvenile Court for
being delinquent.
On 16 Jan 07 Detective Brockmeier requested
a summons for Danny J. Merinar, age 31, 19F Mulberry Street,
Ravenswood, WV, for contributing to the unruliness of a child.
Mr. Merinar admitted being involved in a sexual relationship
and fathering a child with a female who was sixteen years old
when the incidents began in 2005.
On 16 Jan 07 Detective Sirianni requested
a summons for a now eighteen year old Newport resident to appear
in Juvenile Court for delinquency by theft. Detective Sirianni’s
affidavit alleges the suspect stole $250 from a purse while
visiting a friend’s residence in Newport on 22 Sep 06.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Patrick Dean Worstell, age 22, 320 Browns Road, Marietta,
for felony charges of breaking and entering and safecracking
and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business.
Worstell was arrested on Wayne Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jan 07 at 1:35 am.
Daniel Victor Trevino, age 49, 107 Briargate Drive, Marietta,
for .17 breath OVI, driving without license plates and for
having an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Trevino
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jan 07
at 3:20 am.
Dwight Edward Wells, age 46, 14600 Robert
Wells Road, Dexter City, for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended
license, failure to control and hit-skip, all misdemeanors.
Wells was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 Jan 07 at 11:15 am.
Lamont Walter Haywood, age 29, 1889 Marshall Avenue, Huntington,
for trafficking in drugs, permitting drug abuse and for possession
of drugs, all felonies. Haywood was picked up at the Noble
Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jan 07 at 2:25
pm.
