On 11 Jan 07 Ryan Barrett, age 29, 1405 Roddy Road, Vincent, reported he has not seen or heard from his mother for several hours and that she did not report for work at 3 pm the previous afternoon. Mr. Barrett phoned the Sheriff’s Office two hours later stating his mother arrived home unharmed and of her own accord (586).

On 11 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Lee Anna Newbanks, age 24, 1588 Federal Road, Little Hocking, for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and for driving with expired license plates. Stopped for having one operational headlight, Ms. Newbanks slurred her speech and abruptly changed demeanor from crying and feeling pitiful to being angry and swearing. Ms. Newbanks admitted drinking a twelve pack and had an open can of beer in her vehicle with her. Following her poor performance on field sobriety tests Ms. Newbanks was transported to the Washington County Jail where she tested .248% BAC.

On 11 Jan 07 Deputies responded to a distress call phoned in by Tammy Martin, age 49, 7110 Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras. On the scene Mrs. Martin informed Deputy Stackpole that her husband George, age 47, started an argument over the couple’s phone number. At one point Mr. Martin pushed his wife up against a wall and thereafter began to rant and wave a handgun in the air, threatening to “end it all.” Unarmed when the Deputies arrived, Mr. Martin indicated he placed the handgun in a storage building on his property. Lt. Wilson retrieved the gun from the building and also noticed a small quantity of marijuana. When questioned about the presence of any other contraband Mr. Martin admitted having marijuana in an Earnardt bag in the building. At that time Lt. Wilson opened the bag and discovered 200 grams of marijuana and numerous marijuana pipes. As a result of the investigation Mr. Martin was arrested for a felony charge of possession of marijuana and misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bond in the Washington County Jail pending his initial court appearance.

Angela D. Day, age 29, 565 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve three days in jail on 2 Jan 07.

Steven Dillon, age 21, 55011 Hudson Road, Coolville, for possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia on 27 Oct 06.

Steven P. Kirkpatrick, age 24, 11167 State Route 339, Vincent, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for pretrial on 20 Dec 06.

Michael D. Meadows, age 30, 11060 East Copeland Road, Stewart, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $136.50.

Steven J. McGee, age 34, 116 Grove Street, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license on 24 Dec 06.

Michael V. Richards, age 29, 1365 McGill Road, Vincent, for failing to appear to serve thirty-three days in jail on 29 Dec 06.

James L. Way, age 36, 840 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, for the theft of scrap aluminum on 2 Nov 06.

Jonathan M. Wilson, age 20, 801 Hillcrest Drive, Parkersburg, for possessing less than 100 grams of marijuana on 14 Dec 06.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Stephen Harold Guckert Jr., age v37, 1083 Sugar Globe Road, Marietta, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Guckert was arrested on Sixth Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 07 at 1:24 am.

Jason Edward Voshel, age 26, 30445 State Route 7, Marietta, for misuse of a credit card, a felony. Voshel was picked up at the Belmont Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 07 at 1:35 pm.

George David Martin, age 47, 7110 Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and domestic violence. Martin was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 07 at 2:30 pm.

John Wayne Luke, age 45, 717 Quarry Street, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Luke was arrested at a residence on Quarry Street in Marietta by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 07 at 3:07 pm.

Dustin Lee McKnight, age 21, 3905 State Route 530, Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. McKnight Luke was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Hunter of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 07 at 9:00 pm.
