On 9 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Scott J. Freeman, age 25, 45307 Cross Street, Caldwell,
for driving under a suspended license and for traveling 80
mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Freeman on
Interstate 77 near milepost eight in Muskingum Township.
On 9 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated
the report of a fifteen year old Marietta resident threatening
a student who boarded a school bus at Warren Elementary School.
Multiple witnesses stated they heard and saw the suspect look
directly at a thirteen year old Marietta resident and threatened
to shoot him. The suspect explicitly detailed how he would
skip the night’s basketball game, load his gun and carry
out an attack. In consequence, Deputy Mankins requested a summons
for the teenager to appear in Juvenile Court for delinquency
by menacing.
On 9 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a
citation to Joel R. Duncan, age 22, 9652 N 300 E, Roanoke,
IN, for traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Rhodes stopped
Mr. Duncan on State Route 7 near milepost forty-nine in Grandview
Township.
On 9 Jan 07 Sarah A. Casto, age 29, 7355 Veto
Road, Belpre, reported the previous night at 11 pm she suspects
Robert L. Perdue, age 63, 1202 Hocking Road, Belpre, was standing
on her porch in violation of a civil protection order barring
such behavior. Additionally, Ms. Casto stated Mr. Perdue calls
her on numerous occasions and admitted being on her porch,
stating he was only checking to see if the door was locked.
As a result of Mr. Perdue’s repeated violations, Deputy
Sheriff Smeeks requested a warrant for him for violating the
terms of a protection order.
On 9 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds investigated
the report of an overturned vehicle on Roberts Road two miles
from State Route 550. The vehicle, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was
completely burnt and appeared to have been driven onto a bank
and later rolled over aflame onto the roadway. Deputy Reynolds
identified the vehicle as stolen from Chesterhill and forwarded
the case to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office for further
investigation.
On 9 Jan 07 Myron Nibert, age 64, 211 Center
Street, Waterford, reported his son Keith A. Nibert, age 44,
arrived at his home highly intoxicated and was causing a disturbance
by screaming obscenities. Deputy Sheriffs Mankins and Reynolds
located Mr. Nibert on State Route 339 where he said he was
hitchhiking to Point Pleasant. Due to Mr. Nibert’s inebriety
and for his safety, Deputy Mankins arrested him for disorderly
conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Barnett Willie Glover, age 31, 1004 Orchard
Street, Marietta, for six felony counts of unlawful sexual
conduct with a minor. Glover was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Douglas of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan 07 at
12:50 pm.
Keith Allen Nibert, age 44, 211 Center Street, Waterford,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Nibert
was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan 07 at 5:35
pm.
James Scott Walraven, age 30, 805 State Route 124, Coolville,
for failure to reinstate his operator’s license and for
having fictitious plates, both misdemeanors. Walraven was arrested
on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan 07 at 9:35 pm.
