On 2 Jan 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Christopher D. Gaumer, age 21, 613 Lorena Street SW, North Canton, for driving with expired license plates. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Gaumer near Braun Road on US 50 in Belpre Township.

On 2 Jan 07 Patti J. Graham, age 41, 640 Newells Run Road, Newport, reported four Fentaynl patches were stolen from her bedroom dresser between 4:30 and 7 pm the previous evening. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 2 Jan 07 an employee of Marietta Industrial Enterprise, 17943 State Route 7, Marietta, reported two lengths of half inch phone cords were cut from inside a warehouse, damaging the connections for more than twenty computers and phones. This case remains under investigation (1090).

On 2 Jan 07 an employee of Merchants Five Star Trucking, 18192 State Route 7, Marietta, reported approximately fifty gallons of diesel fuel were siphoned from a truck’s fuel tank sometime since it was filled on 30 Dec 06. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 2 Jan 07 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Margaret C. Myers, age 19, 232 Castle Boulevard, Akron, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Wilson stopped Ms. Myers on US 50 near Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Randy Lee Nichols, age 51, 1606 Hill Street Apt. A, Belpre, a fugitive from justice. Nichols was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Jan 07 at 12:45 am.

Patrick Roy Jacobsen, age 26, 1194 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, a fugitive from justice. Jacobsen was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Jan 07 at 4:40 pm.

Scot Alan Edgerton, age 44, 708 Eighth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Edgerton was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Jan 07 at 8:25 pm.
