On 31 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to William F. Evans, age 22, 2010 US 33, Shade,
OH, for traveling 81 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped
Mr. Evans near milepost one on US 50 in Belpre Township.
On 31 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to Jamie D. Snider, age 18, 3925 Creek Road, Stockport,
for traveling 77 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped
Mr. Evans near milepost three on US 50 in Belpre Township.
On 31 Dec 06 Tracy Tidd, age 36, 2235 Bells
Run Road, Newport, reported her live-in boyfriend of twelve
years, Todd D. Weddle, age 37, assaulted her, their ten year
old daughter and her fourteen year old niece. Deputy Sheriff
Simmons learned Mr. Weddle threatened to punch his daughter,
at which time the fourteen year old intervened and he threw
a beer can at and punched her. Ms. Tidd responded to the children’s
pleas for help and pushed Mr. Weddle away from the two. At
that, Mr. Weddle repeatedly struck his girlfriend in the head
before she and the two girls escaped. Based on corroborating
statements, Deputy Simmons arrested Mr. Weddle for assault
and for two counts of domestic violence and transported him
to the Washington County Jail.
On 31 Dec 06 a twenty-seven year old Newport
resident reported she has been receiving phone calls threatening
her, her fiancé and her fiancé’s family.
This case remains under investigation (1299).
On 31 Dec 06 an employee of Virco, PO Box
110, Reno, reported an unknown suspect removed a plug and opened
a valve on an oil tank near the intersection of Millers Lane
and Archers Fork Road and released approximately fifty barrels
at a loss of over $2,500. This case remains under investigation
(1203).
On 31 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris was dispatched
to the scene of a domestic dispute at 15910 State Route 821,
Macksburg. Tammy L. Huxley, age 34, stated she was playing
cards and drinking along with her husband Gregory, age 47,
and others when her husband suddenly became upset. Mr. Huxley
shoved a stereo off a table causing a lighted candle to fall
on Mrs. Huxley and onto the floor. Mr. Huxley proceeded to
his bedroom and began throwing items. As his wife entered the
bedroom Mr. Huxley pinned her between the door and wall and
only released her when she bit his arm. Due to his actions,
Mr. Huxley was arrested for domestic violence and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Felicia Christine Jackson, age 25, 652 Robinson Hill Road,
Marietta, for violating the terms of her parole, a felony.
Jackson was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 06 at 2:29 am.
Charles Clinton Carpenter, age 22, 403 Wirt Street, Belpre,
for driving under a suspended license, speeding, possession
of drug paraphernalia and for driving without license plates,
all misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested on State Route 550
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 31 Dec 06 at 8:44 am.
Gregory Alan Huxley, age 47, 15910 State Route 821, Macksburg,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Huxley was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 06 at 6:05 pm.
Todd Daniel Weddle, age 37, 2235 Bells Run Road, Newport,
for two counts of domestic violence and assault, all misdemeanors.
Weddle was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 06
at 11:54 pm.
