On 27 Dec 06 David Burt, age 44, 17891 State Route 339, Waterford, reported around 1:00 am that morning the driver of a dually-style truck drove off the side of the road and caused damage to his alfalfa field on Spears Hill Road near Creek Road in Watertown. Deputy Sheriff Mankins identified the driver of the vehicle as Eugene R. Pahl Jr., age 33, 209 McDonald Road, Waterford, who admitted he lost control of his truck in the fog and inadvertently swerved off the road. Therefore, Deputy Mankins issued Mr. Pahl a citation for failure to control a motor vehicle.

On 27 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Adam W. Nau, age 23, 154 Rauch Drive, Marietta, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Nau after he nearly hit his patrol car when turning from State Route 7 onto Millers Lane in Marietta Township.

On 27 Dec 06 Carl D. Tyson, age 42, 1115 Lovers Lane, Beverly, reported on 24 Dec 06 he believes his son opened the rear of a locked night stand, removed a metal box containing hydrocodone in dosages between 15 and 80 mg, pried open the box and stole approximately fifteen pills. This case remains under investigation (1020).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Samuel Sterling Joseph, age 30, 840 Pike Street Apt. 42, Marietta, for .08 breath OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Joseph was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Dec 06 at 3:43 am.

Brock Anthony Francis, age 26, 1205 28th Street, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Francis was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Dec 06 at 11:58 pm.
