On 20 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Jesse Workman, age 43, Route 1 Box 628, Mount
Alta, WV, for pulling a trailer without a license plate and
without working lights. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Workman
on State Route 7 at Gravel Bank Road in Warren Township.
On 20 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued
a citation to Charles C. Hamel IV, age 29, 230 Fineburg Road,
North East, MD, for traveling 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy
Rhodes stopped Mr. Hamel near milepost eleven on Interstate
77 in Salem Township.
On 20 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Kristin J. Crutchfield, age 23, 169 Mulberry
Lane, New Concord, OH, for traveling 78 mph in a 65 mph zone.
Deputy Smeeks stopped Ms. Crutchfield near milepost ten on
Interstate 77 in Salem Township.
On 20 Dec 06 an employee of Napoli’s
Pizza, 19 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported over a two
day span beginning on 27 Oct 06 the business received four
bad checks from the same individual for a total of $196.86.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 20 Dec 06 the assistant director of the
Washington County Career Center reported being informed by
a teacher that a student appeared under the influence of a
drug. The seventeen year old was transported to Marietta Memorial
by his mother and the possible source of the drug identified
as a fellow student. This case remains under investigation
(500).
On 20 Dec 06 Valerie R. Coler, age 30, 4188
Patten Mills Road, Stockport, reported being in fear for her
safety after being pushed to the floor and threatened by her
live-in boyfriend Charles J. Shaw, age 44. Ms. Coler stated
the confrontation began at a birthday party earlier in the
evening and that when she attempted to phone for help Mr. Shaw
threatened to kill her. As a result, Mr. Shaw was arrested
for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Steven Edward Hawver, age 44, 204 Ninth Street
Apt. D, Williamstown, for two counts of breach of recognizance,
theft, falsification and for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
all misdemeanors. Hawver was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta
by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Dec 06
at 9:15 am.
Derek Richard Holmes, age 22, 3110 Christy Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Holmes
was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation Officer
Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on
20 Dec 06 at 10:25 am.
Richard Wendell Michaels, age 38, 3170 Indian Run Road, for
failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Michaels was arrested at
his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20
Dec 06 at 12:05 pm.
Jacob Edward Mason, age 20, 50 Second Street, Vincent, for
being a repeat traffic offender and for driving without license
plates, both misdemeanors. Mason was arrested on State Route
550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Dec 06 at 1:30 pm.
David Allen Tansel, age 53, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor.
Tansel was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Douglas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Dec 06 at 2:45 pm.
Rusty Allen Powers, age 27, 106 Main Street, Buckhannon, WV,
for safecracking and theft, both felonies. Powers was picked
up in Upsur County, WV by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Dec 06 at 3:25 pm.
Joseph Edward Davis, age 36, 4804 Ninth Avenue, Vienna, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Davis
was arrested at the Locker Room in Marietta by Patrolman Wenzel
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Dec 06 at 11:54 pm.
