On 13 Dec 06 Lt. Wilson arrested Darin S.
Miller, age 30, 1185 Browns Road, Marietta, for .08 breath
OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license and for having
fictitious plates. Lt. Wilson stopped the vehicle after being
informed by Dispatch the plates were expired even though the
validation sticker indicated an expiration date of July 2007.
Mr. Miller claimed hr drank a few beers but failed horizontal
gaze nystagmus tests. After being arrested Mr. Miller admitted
stealing the validation sticker and placing it on his vehicle.
When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Miller tested
.115% BAC.
On 13 Dec 06 Brian A. Newlon, age 25, 1128
Lancaster Street, Marietta, reported his 1992 Honda 240X ATV,
which was chained to a tree, was stolen from his front yard
at approximately 2:30 am that morning. This case remains under
investigation (597).
On 13 Dec 06 Laura M. Mitchell, age 42, 15
Mill Street, Vincent, reported unbeknownst to her in 2003,
her personal information was used to open accounts with Columbia
Gas and SBC. This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 13 Dec 06 Darrel W. Gamiere, age 52, 119
Main Street, Lower Salem, reported sometime in the past forty-eight
hours an unknown suspect(s) entered his abandoned residence
at 117 Main Street and stole copper plumbing that was installed
in the home as well as with two containers of scrap aluminum
and copper. This case remains under investigation (1299).
On 13 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Ray E. Wright, age 42, Route 1 Box 76A, West
Union, WV, for possession of marijuana and for having an open
container of alcohol. Mr. Wright was a passenger in a vehicle
stopped on Greene Street in Marietta when Deputy Smeeks noticed
an open bottle of Budweiser. Mr. Wright also admitted having
a small bag of marijuana in his pocket.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amy Suzzanne Farnsworth, age 20, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was arrested
on Seventh Street in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Dec 06 at 1:26 am.
Darin Shawn Miller, age 30, 1185 Browns Road, Marietta, for
.08 breath OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license and
for having fictitious plates, all misdemeanors. Miller was
arrested on Seventh Street in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Dec 06 at 1:44 am.
Gary Lee Jackson Jr., age 24, 300 Phillips Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested
on Mount Tom Road by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Dec 06 at 2:59 am.
Robert Lee Perdue, age 63, 1202 Hocking Road,
Belpre, for violating the terms of a protection order, a felony.
Perdue was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Dec 06 at 5:32 pm.
John Wayne Luke, age 45, 717 Quarry Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a felony. Luke was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Dec 06
at 5:44 pm.
