On 9 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Lorena A. Carney, age 18, 2185 Carney Road, Cutler,
for driving left of center. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Carney
near milepost four on State Route 555 in Decatur Township.
On 9 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Emily C. Platz, age 23, 5999 Rocky Rill Road, Columbus,
for traveling 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks stopped
Ms. Platz near milepost three on Interstate 77 in Marietta
Township.
On 9 Dec 06 Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriffs
Norman and Durham responded to a drunken brawl at 855 Browns
Road, Marietta. Arguing over the indiscretions of Denver A.
Pinkerton, age 30, 102 Andover Road, Woodsfield, with his wife
and ex-wife, the home’s resident Larry D. Schmidt, age
42, ordered Mr. Pinkerton out of his home. On the porch Mr.
Pinkerton punched Mr. Schmidt in the face and the two quarreled
to the ground. Family members finally separated the two as
the Deputies arrived. Following minor resistance, Mr. Pinkerton
and Mr. Schmidt were arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 9 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citations to a sixteen year old Michaelis Road resident and
to Kyle J. Palmer, age 20, 1090 Bethel Road, Marietta, for
traveling 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks stopped the
two for racing northbound on State Route 7 near milepost eleven
in Belpre Township.
On 9 Dec 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans assisted
the Ohio State Highway Patrol while investigating a two vehicle
crash at the Valley Inn in Beverly. One of the involved parties,
Robert R. Tackett II, age 48, 6495 State Route 76, McConnelsville,
appeared intoxicated and was placed in Deputy Evans’ patrol
car while the investigation continued. Deputy Evans returned
to his car to find Mr. Tackett pulling up his pants, which
were saturated with urine, and that the floor mat of the vehicle
was also soaked in urine. In addition to charges brought by
the Highway Patrol, Deputy Evans charged Mr. Tackett with disorderly
conduct by intoxication.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Ray Tackett II, age 48, 6495 State Route 76, McConnelsville,
for OVI, failure to control, for disorderly conduct by intoxication
and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Tackett
was arrested in Beverly by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 06 at 2:04
am.
Johnny Ray Sandlin, age 25, 220 Jackson Street, Winchester,
KY, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Sandlin was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 06 at 7:35 pm.
