On 29 Oct 06 Terry J. Gump, age 38, 225 Gale
Avenue, Newport, reported sometime over the past three days
an unknown suspect(s) entered his truck and stole a Dewalt
drill, a socket set and a set of drill bits. This case remains
under investigation (1203).
On 29 Oct 06 Russell R. Adams, age 42, 258
Mill Branch Road, Belpre, reported being notified by witnesses
that Eric D. Watson, age 35, 129 Watson Lane, Belpre, kicked
and dented the door of his truck. Learning Mr. Watson was upset
for being ordered to leave a karaoke party, Deputy Sheriff
Mankins noticed the tread on Mr. Watson’s shoe matched
that of the dented door. As a result, Deputy Mankins requested
a summons for Mr. Watson for criminal damaging.
On 29 Oct 06 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-four year old Marietta resident.
The man’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 29 Oct 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Jerry R. Klintworth, age 23, 807 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, for
.08 breath OVI, failure to signal and for possession of drugs.
Noticing Mr. Klintworth did not use his turn signal, Deputy
Rhodes stopped him at the intersection of Putnam Street and
Gilman Avenue. Deputy Rhodes detected alcohol and administered
field sobriety tests. Following his poor performance on field
sobriety tests Mr. Curry was transported to into the Washington
County Jail where he tested .209% BAC and was found in possession
of a small quantity of marijuana.
On 29 Oct 06 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of death of a forty-three year old Cutler resident.
Though no foul play is suspected in the man’s death,
this case remains under investigation.
On 29 Oct 06 Nicole L. Buck, age 20, 204 Main
Street Apt. 2, New Matamoras, reported being pushed to the
floor by her husband Roger, age 35, while the two were at their
marriage counselor’s residence. Angry that his wife would
not pay attention to him, Mr. Buck assaulted his wife when
she stood and attempted to leave. The counselor confirmed Mrs.
Buck’s account, resulting in the arrest of Mr. Buck for
domestic violence.
On 29 Oct 06 a twenty-four year old Cutler
resident reported she was in the bathroom at a Halloween party
when another partygoer forced his way in and began groping
her despite her pleas for him to stop. Several items fell to
the floor as the victim struggled, at which time the suspect
ceased his advances. This case remains under investigation
(296).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Timothy Paul Charlton, age 25, Route 1 Box 75, Rockport, WV,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Charlton was arrested on Third Street
in Belpre by Sgt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29
Oct 06 at 1:05 am.
Jerry Ray Klintworth, age 23, 807 Gilman Avenue, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI, failure to signal and for possession of
drugs, all misdemeanors. Klintworth was arrested on Gilman
Avenue by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Oct 06 at 2:30 am.
Justin David Barnes, age 27, 110 Dean Street, Marietta, for
OVI and for failure to yield at a flashing signal, both misdemeanors.
Barnes was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Oct 06 at 3:00 am.
Erica Renee Pifer, age 18, 145 Chateau Hills, Parkersburg,
for driving under a suspended license, driving outside the
marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt, all
misdemeanors. Pifer was arrested on US 50 in Belpre by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Oct 06 at 3:20 am.
Andrew Alan Huck, age 28, 936 Fifth Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Huck was
arrested at his residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Oct 06 at 5:50 pm.
