On 12 Oct 06 Joyce Offenberger, age 45, 575 Bramblewood Heights Road, Marietta, reported sometime over the past week an unknown suspect(s) entered her unoccupied rental property at 17260 State Route 550, Marietta and removed a large quantity of copper piping. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 12 Oct 06 Randy W. Doan II, age 26, 132 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, reported his Sony Explod CD player was stolen from his locked vehicle while he worked his shift at Influent that evening. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 12 Oct 06, after learning her checking account was overdrawn, Ruth E. Carver, age 79, 175 Miller’s Lane, Marietta, reported she believed her grandson Thomas J. Cline, age 31, 110 Shady Lane, Marietta, passed two checks he stole from her. Investigating the matter further, Sgt. Hiatt was unable to determine when exactly Mr. Cline stole the checks but definitively linked Mr. Cline to forged checks on 29 Sep 06 at Reno People’s Bank and 6 Oct 06 at Kroger’s. Arrested for felony charges of theft and forgery, Mr. Cline never admitted his guilt but stated he knew what he did was wrong and that he used the money to pay off gambling debts.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Patrick Dean Worstell, age 22, 320 Browns Road, Marietta, for theft, a felony. Worstell was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 12:25 am.

Dexter Darrin Cox, age 34, 151 View Street, Indiana, PA, for OVI and for failure to yield at a flashing signal, both misdemeanors. Cox was arrested at the intersection of Third and Greene Streets in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 3:30 am.

Dale Aric Landaker, age 43, 818 Virginia Street, Beverly, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Landaker was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Willson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 8:50 am.

John Wesley Chesser, age 30, 17052 Murphy Road, Amesville, for driving under a suspended license, speeding and for three counts of domestic violence, all misdemeanors. Chesser was arrested at the Noble County line by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 12:20 pm.

Thomas Joseph Cline, age 31, 110 Shady Lane, Marietta, for felony charges of theft and forgery and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Cline was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 1:05 pm.

Nathan David Gundlach, age 22, 501 ½ Washington Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Gundlach was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 4:38 pm.

Danielle Ann Vanwey, age 22, 3780 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Vanwey was arrested on Oak Grove Lane in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 5:48 pm.

John Leonard Clark, age 35, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Clark was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 10:20 pm.

Justin Allen Harris, age 24, 404 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested at the Double L by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 06 at 11:56 pm.
