On 9 Oct 06 Robert Bryte, age 67, 3395 Warren
Chapel Road, Marietta, reported a log splitter he rented from
Lang’s Power Equipment two days ago was stolen from his
property between 11 pm the previous night and 9 am that morning.
This case remains under investigation (1001).
On 9 Oct 06 Julie Sherman, age 39, 375 Cow
Run Road, Marietta, reported her nineteen year old son pushed
her in the chest when she attempted to intervene in a dispute
between her son and his girlfriend. Mrs. Sherman slapped her
son in retaliation but was not in fear for her safety. Hence,
Deputy Day closed this case as unfounded.
On 9 Oct 06 Deputy Sheriff Day responded to
the scene of death of a sixty-three year old Lowell resident.
The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 9 Oct 06 Christopher B. Conn, age 34, 829
Case Avenue, Elyria, OH, reported during the overnight hours
a number of hunting items, including a bow, crossbow, arrows
and quivers were stolen from a garage he and his hunting partner
were given permission to use at 585 Anderson Road, Lowell.
This case remains under investigation (695).

Deidra Michelle Wriston, age 25, 95 Lang Farm Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation and for disorderly
conduct, both misdemeanors. Wriston was arrested on State Route
676 by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Oct
06 at 12:05 am.
Robert Edward Carpenter, age 32, 2665 Mill Fork Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Carpenter
was arrested on State Route 676 by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 12:15 am.
Mark Edward Rader II, age 24, 9544 State Route 550, Vincent,
for aggravated vehicular homicide and for hit-skip, both felonies.
Rader was arrested at the Marietta City Police Department by
Patrolman McCracken and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 9:40 am.
Roy Daniel McElfresh, age 23, 708 Goddard Road, Cutler, for
contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. McElfresh was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Oct
06 at 10:50 am.
Dreama Lea Roush, age 26, 690 Goddard Road, Cutler, for violating
the terms of her probation and for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Roush was
arrested at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 10:50 am.
Maxwell Eugene Lassiter, age 39, 945 Lancaster Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Lassiter
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 11:20
am.
Carl Allen Thompson, age 34, 210 Lancaster Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Thompson
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 11:20
am.
Jeffrey Shane Wittekind, age 18, 316 Gilman Avenue, Marietta,
for operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement
and for operating without vehicle registration, both misdemeanors.
Wittekind was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 9 Oct 06 at 11:45 am.
