On 24 Sep 06 Jesse Knight, age 38, 121 Harvest
Run Road, Marietta, reported the seller of an English bulldog
he purchased over the internet has yet to send the dog despite
being given a $500 down payment. This case remains under investigation
(1001).
On 24 Sep 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
a citation to Hugh D. McGrew, age 18, 118 Dawes Circle, Marietta,
for possession of marijuana. Mr. McGrew was stopped for speeding
near milepost thirteen on State Route 7 and found with marijuana
after a canine indicated the presence of drugs in his vehicle.
On 24 Sep 06 a thirty-five year old Newport
resident reported for the past nine days she and her husband
have been receiving harassing phone calls. This case remains
under investigation (200).
On 24 Sep 06 Lt. Huffer Morris issued a citation
to James E. Pyatt, age 55, 1040 State Route 339, Belpre, for
traveling 56 mph in a 40 mph zone and for towing a trailer
without a license plate. Lt. Huffer stopped Mr. Pyatt near
milepost ten on State Route 550 in Barlow Township.
On 24 Sep 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
a citation to David E. Barta, age 19, 1131 Marks Road, Valley
City, OH, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Morris
stopped Mr. Barta near milepost sixteen on State Route 7 in
Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Larry Eugene Sparks, age 50, 314 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Sparks was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
24 Sep 06 at 5:05 pm.
Calvin Cecil Dixon, age 19, 704 Center Street, Beverly, for
driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Dixon was
arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 06 at 6:45
pm.
Michael Donovan Kane, age 21, 34 First Street, Athens, for
possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Kane was arrested
on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 06 at 7:25 pm.
