On 10 Sep 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Mary A. Bennett, age 52, 6100 State Route 260, New Matamoras, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Deputy Rhodes observed Ms. Bennett’s vehicle travel across the right edge line near milepost forty on State Route 7. Ms. Bennett admitted consuming three bottles of beer at a local establishment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail Ms. Bennett tested .109% BAC.

On 10 Sep 06 Deputy Sheriffs Reynolds and Stackpole investigated a report of a woman staggering along State Route 550, just west of Virginia Street. The suspect, Shirley J. Ullman, age 53, 3128 State Route 550, Bartlett, reeked of alcohol and stated she was walking to her home in Bartlett from the Sternwheel Festival. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Reynolds arrested Ms. Ullman for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 10 Sep 06 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation to Tonie L. Scott, age 44, 624 Morrow Drive, New Kensington, WV, for traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Ms. Scott near milepost fourteen on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 10 Sep 06 Robert Corbett, age 63, 2334 State Route 339, Belpre, reported a Poulon sixteen in chainsaw was stolen from his backyard while he delivered a load of freshly cut wood to his neighbor. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 10 Sep 06 Autumn Smith, age 30, 115 Longacre Street, Marietta, reported her live-in boyfriend Kenneth A. Casada Sr., age 51, threatened her with a gun. Ms. Smith stated Mr. Casada accosted her with the gun in their bedroom and ordered her out of the house. As the two walked down a hallway Mr. Casada then struck Ms. Smith in the head with .22 caliber revolver. Without further incident, Ms. Smith escaped and Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff Norman arrived to investigate. Given permission to retrieve the gun, Deputy Norman also observed a bag of marijuana in the bedroom. Due to Mr. Casada’s present state of intoxication and prior drug offenses he was charged with handling a weapon while intoxicated and with having a weapon while under disability. Additionally charged with possession of drugs and domestic violence, Mr. Casada was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tana Kay Senften, age 45, PO Box 246, Coolville, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Senften was arrested at Veto Lake by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 1:30 am.

Shirley Jean Ullman, age 53, 3128 State Route 550, Bartlett, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Ullman was arrested on State Route 550 by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 2:10 am.

Daniel Dwaine Gaughan, age 40, 106 Fourth Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Gaughan was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 2:40 am.

Mary Asman Bennett, age 52, 6100 State Route 260, New Matamoras, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Bennett was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 4:40 am.

Kenneth Arnold Casada Sr., age 51, 115 Longacre Street, Marietta, for a felony charge of having a weapon while under disability and misdemeanor charges of domestic violence, possession of drugs and using a weapon while intoxicated. Casada was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 7:25 am.

Barbette Ann McCarty, age 40, 3545 State Route 550, Lowell, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. McCarty was arrested on Third Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 12:33 pm.

Michael Travis Riffle, age 33, 909 Fourth Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Riffle was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 06 at 7:30 pm.
