On 31 Aug 06 Deputy Sheriff Day responded to the scene of a domestic dispute at 710 Bender Road, Marietta. Like many of these calls, alcohol was involved. In this case the inebriation was caused by Deborah M. Harris, age 46, consuming copious amounts of alcohol distilled from a 51% corn mash mixture and aged in charred oak barrels, which is commonly known as American whiskey. Deputy Day determined Mrs. Harris threatened her husband Larry Harris, age 64, while the two were in their kitchen and moments later Mrs. Harris retrieved a handgun and again threatened her husband. When questioned regarding her actions, Mrs. Harris admitted threatening her husband with the weapons. As a result, Deputy Day arrested Mrs. Harris for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

Riggs, age 32, 1455 East Branch Road, Lowell, reported receiving information from a neighbor that her former boyfriend Homer Hendrix III, age 33, 304 Colegate Drive, Marietta, entered her home and left toward Marietta via taxi. Ms. Riggs stated she is staying with family, as Mr. Hendrix is forbidden to have contact with her due to a previous incident and she is in fear for her safety. Ms. Riggs also noted a small red motorcycle belonging to her son was missing. Deputy Sheriff located and stopped the taxicab, whose driver stated he picked up and drove Mr. Hendrix to 1455 East Branch Road. At the residence he then observed Mr. Hendrix enter the home and returned with a red “pocket bike.” Once arrested Mr. Hendrix kicked the rear window of Deputy Evans’ vehicle off track and at the jail, exposed himself to a female Corrections Officer.
