On 30 Aug 06 Lisa L. Carpenter, age 42, 25
Smith Drive, Marietta, reported being assaulted by her live-in
boyfriend of thirteen years, Mark Maynard, age 46. Ms. Carpenter
said she confronted Mr. Maynard over his excessive drinking,
threatening to call his probation officer. In return Mr. Maynard
broke a phone and pushed Ms. Carpenter across their bed into
a dresser. Forced into the bathroom, Ms. Carpenter remained
there until Mr. Maynard left for work and allowed her to phone
for help. Lt. Canavan requested a summons for Mr. Maynard for
domestic violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kevin Matthew Hess, age 19, 840 Pike Street
Apt. 34, Marietta, for operating a motorcycle without an endorsement,
for being a repeat traffic offender, for violating rules for
motorcycles and for obstruction of justice, all misdemeanors.
Hess was arrested at Ridgewood Court Apartments by Patrolman
Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 06 at 2:55 pm.
Mark Aaron McIntyre, age 24, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta,
for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation
and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. McIntyre
was arrested at Ridgewood Court Apartments by Patrolman Hanson
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 06 at 3:05 pm.
Leroy Jon Cohenour, age 25, PO Box 641, Moses Lake, WA, for
a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges
of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia,
possession of drugs and driving outside the marked lanes of
travel. Cohenour was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 30 Aug 06 at 3:10 pm.
Douglas Eugene Brookover, age 52, Marietta, for failure to
appear, a felony. Brookover was picked up in Abingdon, VA by
Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Aug 06 at 7:23 pm.
Ricky Dwayne Stevens, age 39, 280 Leo Sams Lane, Chesterhill,
for trafficking in drugs and for possession of drugs, both
felonies. Stevens was picked up in Welch, WV by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on
30 Aug 06 at 8:00 pm.
Thomas Ira Valentine, age 24, 114 Sunset Drive, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Valentine
was arrested outside the Four Seasons in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 06 at 9:25 pm.
