On 25 Aug 06 Randal L. Elliott, age 41, 35 Stanley Street, Newport, reported when he arrived home from a short bicycle ride at 12:50 am, an unknown suspect struck him in the side of the head. This case remains under investigation (1299).

On 25 Aug 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to David W. McAtee, age 53, 5455 State Route 821, Whipple, for passing on a double yellow line. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. McAtee on State Route 550 east of Johnson Road in Warren Township.

On 25 Aug 06 Robert J. Cline, age 24, 1043 State Route 339, Belpre, reported when he arrived home that evening a neighbor informed him that three individuals entered his trailer. Mr. Cline identified the three suspects as his landlords Robert D. and Donna Cline, ages 47 and 36, 840 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre, and Christine L. Doak, age 31, 1808 Worthington Street, Parkersburg. After Mr. Cline admitted to Deputy Sheriff Mankins he and the other two suspects entered the residence without permission Deputy Mankins requested summonses for the trio for criminal trespassing.

On 25 Aug 06 Carla West, age 42, 180 Newells Run Road, Newport, reported late that afternoon that a goat belonging to her neighbor Benita E. Ruth, age 38, 150 Newells Run Road, Newport, was loose in her yard and ate nearly all of her tomatoes. Before she forced the animal to scurry away Ms. West stated the goat defecated on her sidewalk and porch. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Reynolds requested a summons for Ms. Ruth for allowing her animal to be at large.

On 25 Aug 06 Shannyn Anderson, age 38, 265 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, reported after signing a contract and issuing a check for over $1,300 to a local contractor in October of last year the contractor has yet to complete the work. This case remains under investigation (953).

On 25 Aug 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris investigated an assault that took place in the parking lot of the Washington County Jail. The victim, Helena D. Riggs, age 32, 1455 East Branch Road, Lowell, picked her live-in boyfriend Homer Hendrix III, age 33, up at the jail several hours earlier and had been driving around, arguing since. As she threatened, Ms. Riggs returned to the jail and parked her car, prompting Mr. Hendrix to grab her by the neck and choke her unconscious. Regaining her senses, Ms. Riggs pulled the vehicle closer to the jail in search of help, during which time Mr. Hendrix began barraging her face with blows from his fist. Thereafter, Corrections Officer Lagasse observed the attack and thwarted further violence. Arrested, Mr. Hendrix was charged by Deputy Morris with felonious assault.

Jamie E. Bates, age 24, 15971 County Road 13, Caldwell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $253.50.

Allen W. Bennett, age 31, 108D Colonial Terrace, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,194.70.

Jacob E. Mason, age 20, 50 Second Street, Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,739.40.

Robert L. Miller, age 32, 22773 State Route 78, Sarahsville, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $175.50.

Ralph G. Phillips, age 43, 88 Heavenly Lane, Summerville, WV, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $240.50.

Jamie C. Waters, age 34, 14002 State Route 339, Watertown, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $53.30.

Roy D. McElfresh, age 22, 708 Goddard Road, Cutler, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 1 Aug 06.

Robert C. Schlicher, age 27, 2059 Scenic Drive Apt. 3G, Lancaster, for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on 21 Aug 06.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Sheila Renee Bonson, age 39, 1820 Seventh Street, Parkersburg, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Bonson was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman Clevenger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 12:45 am.

Jason Alexander Turner, age 24, 2709 David Lee Drive, Parkersburg, for .08 breath OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Turner was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 3:20 am.

Joshua Don Martin, age 26, 3860 State Route 676, Stockport, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and for having an invalid license plate, all misdemeanors. Martin was arrested on State Route 550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 4:20 am.

Michalyn Nichole Blair, age 29, 150 Camelot Road Lot 14, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Blair was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 12:23 pm.

Joseph David Stalford, age 20, 121 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Stalford was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 2:02 pm.

Carl Daniel Hofman, age 29, 11480 Waterford Road, Waterford, for driving under an OVI suspended license, for operating an unsafe vehicle and for having an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Hofman was arrested on State Route 339 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 6:15 pm.

David Brian Taylor, age 36, 810 Clifton Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 06 at 9:45 pm.
