On 22 Aug 06 Mark Estes, age 45, 30 Coplin Street, Marietta, reported sometime during the past two days an unidentified suspect(s) entered his unlocked, detached garage and removed a 2000 Honda dirt bike. This case remains under investigation (1091).

On 22 Aug 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Roger A. Winebrenner, age 26, 205 Scammel Street, Marietta, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Winebrenner on Gilman Street near the Washington Street Bridge in Marietta.

On 22 Aug 06 Molly J. Chutes, age 24, 160 Mile Run Road, Marietta, reported as she was traveling on Greene Street with a friend, she observed her vehicle being towed. Speaking to the tow truck driver, Ms. Chutes learned an unknown female phoned the towing company without her knowledge and had the vehicle towed. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 22 Aug 06 a thirty-eight year old Beverly resident reported two days of arguing with her fifteen year old daughter culminated with an assault that evening. Beginning because she was not allowed to have a friend spend the night, the teenager yelled and cursed at her mother before grabbing her hair and striking her several times. In consequence, Deputy Sheriff Morris charged the juvenile with delinquency, arrested and transported her to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Earnest Grier III, age 37, 8181 Highway 51, Millington, TN, for driving under an FRA suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Grier was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 8:58 am.

Mandie Lee Hale, age 29, 2340 State Route 376, Stockport, for two counts of violating the terms of her probation and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. Hale was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 9:41 am.

Georgene M. Christopher, age 37, 11 Pickering Street, Parkersburg, for passing bad checks, a felony. Christopher was arrested in Juvenile Court by Detective Garvey of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 11:07 am.

Thaddeus Derek Smith, age 43, 469 Arbor Road, Cleveland, for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 3:10 pm.

Tara Renee Scragg, age 36, PO Box 15063, Charleston, for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Scragg was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 3:25 pm.

Ron Michael Patterson, age 24, 423 Third Street Apt. 3, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Patterson was arrested near Weber’s Market in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 06 at 9:15 pm.
