On 20 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Simmons requested a summons for David L. Elswick, age 49, 1402 21st Street, Parkersburg, for theft. Mr. Elswick allegedly stole a cardboard Budweiser racing sign from Heslop’s Grocery on 11 Aug 06.

On 20 Aug 06 Rick D. Taylor, age 36, 160 Harvest Run Road, Marietta, reported sometime over the past eight days, two Craftsman cordless drills, a Craftsman tool set, a Dewalt nail gun and a channel lock set were stolen from the home he is having built at 1335 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 20 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Simmons requested a summons for Rebecca D. Gessel, age 23, 229 Main Street Apt. 1, Lowell, for theft. Deputy Simmons’ affidavit alleges Ms. Gessel stole flex pipes, scrap metal and three gas cans from Lang’s Welding on 14 and 15 Aug 06.

On 20 Aug 06 Rhonda Wallace, age 44, 211 Barber Street, Marietta, reported her judiciousness in not driving home intoxicated was not rewarded, as the Toyota truck she drove and left at the Outskirts Bar on State Route 550 was stolen before she could return to retrieve it. This case remains under investigation (500).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tamara Diane Lang, age 44, 2915 Plum Run Road, Waterford, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lang was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 06 at 11:36 am.

Billy Allen Babcock, age 30, 516 ½ Third Street, Marietta, for possession of drugs, a felony. Babcock was arrested on County Road 375 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 06 at 8:50 pm.
