On 14 Aug 06 Debra E. Scoggan, age 44, 30 Rhodes Road, Lowell, reported between 12:30 and 1:30 that afternoon a red crayon piggy bank containing approximately $500 and a book of checks were stolen from inside her home. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 14 Aug 06 Brenda K. Murphy, age 45, 51194 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported she was being treated for injuries that resulted from an assault perpetrated by her husband Randal, age 45. Mrs. Murphy detailed that she tried to avoid a confrontation her husband instigated in his inebriety by screaming and calling her names. As she attempted to go to bed Mr. Murphy pushed her into a microwave, causing her to fall and lose consciousness. Unable to locate Mr. Murphy at that time, Deputy Sheriff Spencer requested a warrant for him for domestic violence.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Cornell Watkins II, age 33, 514 Elm Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Watkins was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 1:11 am.

Lou Ann Baker, age 39, 150 Camelot Road Lot 6, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Baker turned herself in at the Sheriff’s Office to Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 2:55 pm.

Dennis Ray Oakley, age 25, 424 Third Street Apt. 4, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Oakley was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 3:11 pm.

Jeremiah Allen Jeffers, age 22, 670 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jeffers was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 5:02 pm.

Jeremy Ray Braun, age 22, 195 Caywood Road, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Braun was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 9:00 pm.

Brian David Long, age 36, 4723 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer, all misdemeanors. Long was arrested on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Aug 06 at 11:00 pm.
