On 7 Aug 06 Detectives Johnson and Schuck
and Deputy Sheriff Evans investigated a burglary at the home
of Clifford Winstanley, 215 Caywood Road, Marietta. Mr. Winstanley
stated $1,000 was missing from his bedroom and when he arrived
home his grandson Jeffrey A. Braun, age 19, Marietta, ran around
the residence. Mr. Braun later reappeared to speak with him
holding a bottle of water and a Klondike bar, items Mr. Winstanley
recognized from his own refrigerator. Though he denied it at
first Mr. Braun admitting breaking a window to enter the residence
after detectives confronted him with a shoeprint that matched
and found on a washing machine under the window. In consequence,
Mr. Braun was arrested for burglary and transported to the
Washington County Jail.
On 7 Aug 06 Jacob Johnston, age 24, 810 Mount
Tom Road, Marietta, reported at approximately 5:50 that morning
an unknown suspect(s) removed his mailbox post and used it
to break the front and rear windows of his 1995 Camaro. This
case remains under investigation (296).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Eric Hoffert, age 23, 161 Wells Avenue,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Hoffert was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 06 at
12:25 pm.
Joshua Levi Carroll, age 21, 2714 Riverview Drive, Parkersburg,
for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony. Carroll
turned himself in at the Courthouse to Deputy Sheriff Summers
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 06 at
2:00 pm.
Kristofer Robert Eye, age 22, 10895 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem,
for gross sexual imposition, a felony. Eye was picked up at
the Noble Correctional Institution by Captain Brum and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 06 at 3:40 pm.
Todd Royal Wilson, age 43, 147 Zanesville Avenue, Logan, OH,
for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer,
a felony. Wilson was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution
by Captain Brum and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 7 Aug 06 at 3:50 pm.
Jesse Aaron Anderson, age 23, 138 Franklin Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Anderson was
arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Aug 06 at 7:05 pm.
Jeffrey Allen Braun, age 19, Marietta, for burglary, a felony.
Braun was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Deputy
Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 7 Aug 06 at 7:05 pm.
Daniel Gary West, age 33, 2208 Highland Road, Parkersburg,
for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony. West was
picked up at the Southeastern Correctional Facility by Deputy
Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Aug 06 at 8:09 pm.
