On 1 Aug 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued
a citation to Emmett P. Whisenhunt IV, age 22, 613 Eighth Street
Apt. 3, Marietta, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Stackpole stopped Mr. Whisenhunt on State Route 7 near Veto
Road in Warren Township.
On 1 Aug 06 Eric Wagner, age 40, 2505 Brownrigg
Road, Waterford, reported during the night it appears that
an occupant in a passing vehicle threw a wooden object at his
dog trailer, causing damage to the diamond plate metal. This
case remains under investigation (592).
On 1 Aug 06, while investigating an argument
reported at 3049 Turkeyhen Road, Fleming, Sgt. Hiatt observed
a suspect in the incident drive into the residence’s
driveway. Interviewing Jennifer S. Jorgensen, age 25, Sgt.
Hiatt noticed an odor of alcohol and requested Ms. Jorgensen
perform field sobriety tests. Following her poor performance
on the tests Ms. Jorgensen searched her purse for her identification,
during which time Sgt. Hiatt noticed a marijuana pipe and marijuana
wrapped in cellophane. As a result, Ms. Jorgensen was arrested
for OVI, failure to register, possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
On 1 Aug 06 Jared S. Wittekind, age 18, 135
Wynnwood Drive, Marietta, reported he believes members from
a rival rock band damaged the trunk of his Dodge Neon by throwing
a brick at it. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 1 Aug 06 Sgt. Underwood began an investigation
into the theft of items from at least six vehicles in the vicinity
of 13 and 21 Wood Drive in Little Hocking. Items stolen include:
a Warren High School letterman jacket, a Louis Vuitton purse,
cigarettes, prescription medication, sunglasses and motorcycle
riding gloves.
On 1 Aug 06 Steven L. Beckett, age 41, 5155
Veto Road, Vincent, reported while he was watching television
in his basement that evening he heard the sound of glass breaking
and noticed a round piece of shot embedded in the glass of
his front door. This case remains under investigation (1299).
$15,000 OF COCAINE SEIZED DURING ARREST
On 31 July 06 the Washington County Major
Crimes Task Force, utilizing an undercover operative from Columbus,
delivered
four and a half ounces of cocaine to Adam M. Hall, age 25,
105 Washington Street, Marietta, OH. The delivery was consummated
at a convenience store located on US 50 near Belpre and the
vehicle in which Hall was traveling was stopped on US 50 by
the Belpre Police Department K-9 unit. Hall indicated the
cocaine, which has a street value of approximately $15,000,
was destined
for delivery in the Marietta area. Hall was arrested and is
being held in the Washington County Jail without bond pending
his initial appearance in court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kristoffer Michael Scott, age 20, 27 Aqua Isles, Parkersburg,
for driving under a suspended license and for having fictitious
plates, both misdemeanors. Scott was arrested on Washington
Boulevard in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 06 at 12:06 am.
Chad Anthony Burdette, age 24, 131 Clark Street, Marietta,
for felony charges of OVI and failure to comply with the order/signal
of an officer and misdemeanor charges of driving under an FRA
suspended license, reckless operation, and possession of drug
paraphernalia. Burdette was arrested on Interstate 77 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Aug 06 at 2:14 am.
Marcus Wayne Allen, age 27, 727 Clovin Street, Belpre, for
assault, a misdemeanor. Allen was arrested on Pike Street in
Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Aug 06 at 5:12 am.
Theresa Marie Nester, age 30, 631 Seventh
Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Nester was arrested at the Adult Probation Office
by Patrolman Douglas of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 06 at
4:00 pm.
William Joseph Matheny, age 21, 42 Haas Drive, Stockport,
for felony charges of vandalism and assaulting a peace officer
and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and domestic violence.
Matheny was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 06 at
4:25 pm.
Jennifer Star Jorgensen, age 25, 3049 Turkeyhen Road, Fleming,
for OVI, failure to register, possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Jorgensen was arrested
at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug
06 at 7:30 pm.
