On 26 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a report of individuals smoking marijuana while fishing near Kraton Polymer at 2982 Washington Boulevard, Belpre. Arriving on the scene, Deputy Norman smelled marijuana and observed Daniel S. Metz, age 35, 1535 Braun Road, Belpre, smoking. Initially Mr. Metz denied smoking marijuana but later relented and pointed at the marijuana joint he threw on the ground. In consequence, Deputy Norman arrested Mr. Metz for possession of drugs and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 26 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Joe F. Carmichael, age 72, 907 Tygart Street, Parkersburg, for pulling a trailer without brake lights. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Carmichael on State Route 7 at Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.

On 26 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Earnest F. White II, age 32, 1025 ½ Lakeview Drive, Parkersburg, for pulling a trailer without brake lights. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. White on State Route 7 at Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.

On 26 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued a citation to Robert Kastrow, age 53, 815 Lynn Street, Parkersburg, for making an improper lane change. Deputy Reynolds stopped Mr. Kastrow after she observed him nearly strike another vehicle while traveling northbound on State Route 7 near Gravel Bank Road in Warren Township.

On 26 Jul 06 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Gary D. Burton, age 23, 116 Franklin Street, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license and for not wearing a seat belt. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Burton at the intersection of Fourth and Putnam Streets in Marietta.

On 26 Jul 06 an employee of Fouss Construction, 2535 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, reported the business received a bad check for $551.96 on 22 Feb 06 for the purchase of an aerator pump and six amp breaker. This case remains under investigation (8411).

On 26 Jul 06 Lt. Wilson issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Wesley K. Becker, age 43, 35117 Township 246, Lower Salem, for possession of marijuana. Noticing an odor of marijuana after he stopped Mr. Becker for not having a front license plate on State Route 7, Lt. Wilson confiscated a marijuana cigarette from the vehicle’s ashtray.

Allen W. Bennett, age 31, 108D Colonial Terrace, Marietta, for the theft of a flash memory drive from Marietta College on 20 Jun 06.

Steven W. Rush, age 19, 108 Sunset Drive, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt on 24 Jun 06.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Garrett Edward Babb, age 21, 105 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta, for furnishing alcohol to underage persons, a misdemeanor. Babb was arrested at Masonic Park by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 12:24 am.

Margaret Francis Byrom, age 39, 7012 Market Street Apt. C, Parkersburg, for burglary, a felony. Byrom was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Smeeks of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 12:45 am.

Angela Sue Nutter, age 28, 1509 Staunton Avenue, Parkersburg, for burglary, a felony. Nutter was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 1:05 am.

David Justin Moreland, age 25, 1511 Staunton Avenue, Parkersburg, for complicity in committing burglary, a felony. Moreland was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 1:36 am.

Daniel Scott Metz, age 35, 1535 Braun Road, Belpre, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested at Kraton by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 10:50 am.

Shashonna Jo Schwendeman, age 22, 105 Gilman Avenue Lot 2, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Schwendeman was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 2:10 pm.

Michael Alan Lightfritz, age 26, 1607 Hill Street, Belpre, for theft, a felony. Lightfritz was picked up at the Southern Correctional Institution in Lancaster by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 4:53 pm.

Robert Vance Hardie Jr., age 24, 105 Bear Run Road, Newport, for rape, a felony. Hardie was picked up at the Ross Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 5:04 pm.

Jordan Allen Myers, age 18, 202 Ohio Street, Woodsfield, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Myers was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 06 at 5:47 pm.
