On 24 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Joseph E. Burbacher, age 19, 37310 State Route
60, Graysville, for pulling a vehicle without license plates.
Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Burbacher on State Route 7 at Blue
Knob Road in Warren Township.
On 24 Jul 06 Robert L. Hooper, 1175 County
House Lane, Marietta, reported his parked vehicle, containing
his eight year old daughter and seven year old son, slipped
from park into another gear while he was inside the home visiting
his father at 175 Goose Run Road, Marietta. The Chrysler Concorde
rolled over a small embankment and into a tree. While the vehicle
was towed from the scene, the children received treatment at
St. Joseph’s Hospital for minor injuries.
On 24 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested
Patrick Brian Nichols, age 42, 840 Pike Street Apt. 42, Marietta,
for OVI and driving under an OVI suspended license. Knowing
from a prior encounter that Mr. Nichols did not have a valid
license, Deputy Morris stopped him on Pike Street. Deputy Morris
noticed an odor of alcohol on Mr. Nichols but Mr. Nichols refused
to complete field sobriety tests. As a result, Mr. Nichols
was transported to the Washington County Jail where he refused
to take a breathalyzer test.

Office received the following warrants:
Christopher Brinson, age 23, 437 West High
Street Apt. F, New Philadelphia, for failing to appear for
pretrial on 18 Jul 06.
Zachariah L. Combs, age 19, 9151 State Route 377, Chesterhill,
OH, for an assault he perpetrated on 16 Jul 06.
Don L. Kitts, age 32, 516 Fifth Street, Beverly, for disorderly
conduct by fighting on 17 Jun 06.
Jerrod D. Russell, age 30, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 64, Marietta,
for failing to pay his fines in full or to appear at the jail
on 26 Jun 06.
Brad M. Smith, age 33, 775 Jennings Hill Road, Marietta, for
violating the terms of a protection order on 13 Jul 06.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jimmy Lee Smith, age 38, 255 Highland Ridge
Road, Lowell, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a
misdemeanor. Smith was arrested on State Route 7 in Belpre
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Jul 06 at 3:13 pm.
David Andrew Walker, age 19, 2836 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Walker
was picked at SEPTA by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 06 at 4:07 pm.
Mark Aaron McIntyre, age 24, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta,
for receiving stolen property, a felony. McIntyre turned himself
in to Sgt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office Deputy Sheriff Morris and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Jul 06 at 5:35 pm.

for OVI and driving under an OVI suspended license, both misdemeanors.
Nichols was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff
Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24
Jul 06 at 7:15 pm.
Mayford Lee Miller, age 48, 403 Blennerhassett Avenue, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
24 Jul 06 at 8:45 pm.
Donald William Carpenter, age 44, 920 Caywood Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of OVI and misdemeanor charges of driving
under a suspended license and driving left of center. Carpenter
was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 24 Jul 06 at 11:40 pm.
