On 20 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Roney A. Nichols, age 37, 200 Pennock Drive Lot 4, Beverly, for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Mr. Nichols was a passenger in a vehicle Deputy Morris stopped on Interstate 77 for following another vehicle too closely.

On 20 Jul 06 Andrew Jones, age 43, 5389 Buchanan Road, Waterford, reported after being notified by Target Department Stores on 24 May 06 that unbeknownst to him, his personal information was used to open a charge account. Once placing a fraud alert on his account with the three credit bureaus, Mr. Jones was informed six days later his information was used again to apply for credit through Abercrombie and Fitch. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 20 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded to a possible domestic altercation between Glenna Wriston, age 26, and her husband at their residence at 687 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta. Mrs. Wriston stated she was in fact involved in a heated argument with her husband and during that time both of them fell to the outside ground. Mr. Wriston confirmed his wife’s account; hence Deputy Malone closed this case as unfounded.

On 20 Jul 06 Lt. Wilson issued a minor misdemeanor citation to David L. Osborne, age 22, 105 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta, for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Mr. Osborne was a passenger in a vehicle Lt. Wilson stopped on Interstate 77 for not having a front license plate.

On 20 Jul 06 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded to the scene of an assault at 513 Broad Street, Macksburg. Three witnesses at the scene informed the Deputies that they, along with Kester L. Cantwell Jr., age 23, 211 Main Street, Macksburg, were examining a derby car when Keith A. Williams, age 34, 44010 Parrish Ridge Road, Caldwell, arrived and accused Mr. Cantwell of stealing his property. Mr. Cantwell dismissed the accusation and resumed his examination of the derby car. At that time Mr. Williams struck Mr. Cantwell from behind, in the right temple and knocked him unconscious. Charged by Deputy Rhodes with felonious assault, Mr. Williams fled from the scene prior to the arrival of Deputies but later turned himself in at the Noble County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Cantwell was transported to the hospital in critical condition

On 20 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated an assault that transpired at Influent that afternoon. Lynn A. Elkayam, age 30, 145 Greenbrier Circle, Marietta, stated Julia A. McKnight, age 24, 1152 Brownsville Road, New Matamoras, was standing near her, harassing her and giving her dirty looks so she launched a preemptive attack. Before being stopped by other employees, Ms. Elkayam jumped up from her seat and pushed Ms. McKnight, causing her to fall into a dry erase board and onto the floor. As a result, Deputy Rhodes arrested Ms. Elkayam for assault and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jessica Renee Tuck, age 20, 708 Ninth Street, Cambridge, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Tuck was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 9:14 am.

Daniel Lee Smith, age 32, Route 2 Box 255, New Martinsville, for driving under an FRA suspended license and having fictitious plates, both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested on Farson Street in Belpre by Patrolman Wallace of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 10:14 am.

Mechele Lynn Nichols, age 43, Pennock Trailer Park Lot 4, Beverly, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Nichols was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 12:06 pm.

Jared Owen Brahler, age 20, 3492 117th Street, Cleveland, for breach of recognizance, driving under an FRA suspended license and not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Brahler was picked up in Cleveland by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 5:32 pm.

Hanna Marie Coventry age 19, 25338 Garden Road, Oakwood, OH, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Coventry was arrested on Interstate 77 by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 6:06 pm.

Lynn Ann Elkayam, age 30, 145 Greenbrier Circle, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Elkayam was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 6:24 pm.

Keith Allen Williams, age 34, 44010 Parish Ridge Road, Caldwell, for felonious assault. Williams was arrested in Aurelius Township by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 06 at 9:32 pm.
