On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated an assault that transpired at 832 Luke Chute Road, Waterford. Witnesses concur that Zachariah L. Combs, age 19, 9151 State Route 377, Chesterhill, was not provoked when he punched Brian Guiler, age 23, 1438 Milner Road, Waterford, and knocked him unconscious for approximately ten minutes. Therefore, Deputy Eddy requested a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Combs for assault.

On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a citation to James C. Meade, age 18, 1383 Dupont Road, Washington, WV, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Stackpole stopped Mr. Meade on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.

On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a citation to Christopher J. Jones, age 23, 35 ½ Mound Street, Athens, for traveling 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Stackpole stopped Mr. Jones on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.

On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Terry A. Bowen, age 55, 500 Memory Lane, Kingston, AL, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Bowen on State Route 7 near milepost eleven in Belpre Township.

On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Rachael C. Kovach, age 20, 37390 Tidewater Drive, Solon, OH, for traveling 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped Ms. Kovach on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren Township.

On 16 Jul 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris investigated a report from Sierra Apartments that an intoxicated male was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, drinking beer. On the scene Deputy Morris observed Patrick B. Nichols, age 42, 840 Pike Street Apt. 42, Marietta, with bloodshot eyes, an open can of beer and his vehicle running. Once Mr. Nichols performed poorly on field sobriety tests he was arrested for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeremy Duane Goins, age 32, 242 Pennsylvania Avenue Apt. 9, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor. Goins was arrested on Gravel Bank Road by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 06 at 4:25 pm.

Patrick Brian Nichols, age 42, 840 Pike Street Apt. 42, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Nichols was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 06 at 8:51 pm.

William Edward Foreman, age 31, 800 Front Street, Marietta, for two counts of OVI, driving under a suspended license, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, and for operating with the license plates of the former owner, all misdemeanors. Foreman was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 06 at 10:48 pm.
