On 24 Jun 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans arrested James Louis Antill Jr., age 22, 111 Faye Avenue, Marietta, for OVI. Notified of an intoxicated driver by a pedestrian, Deputy Evans stopped the suspect vehicle. Once he noticed an odor of alcohol on Mr. Antill, Deputy Evans requested he perform field sobriety tests. Following Mr. Antill’s poor performance on the tests, he was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .219% BAC.

On 24 Jun 06 Charles Knott, age 33, 18391 State Route 555, Cutler, reported being punched in the face by one out of three suspect(s) he confronted because they were riding ATV’s on his property on State Route 676 without permission. After speaking with Mr. Knott, Deputy Sheriff Malone observed three ATV’s on the roadway in the vicinity of Williams Road. Failing to heed to Deputy Malone’s emergency lights and siren, the ATV riders gave chase to Patten Mills Road before slipping of the roadway into a heavily wooded area. This case remains under investigation.

On 24 Jun 06 Gene Wentz, age 56, 47 Sweetapple Road, Vincent, reported a former renter of his trailer at 35 Sweetapple Road stole a window air conditioner when she vacated the residence. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 24 Jun 06 Detective Brockmeier investigated a hit-skip accident at IGA in Newport. A witness reported seeing a Ford F-150, later identified as driven by Allen Beaver, age 62, 11525 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem, strike the rear passenger side fender of a Toyota Camry owned by Constance Brady, 115 Morningside Drive, New Matamoras. Speaking to Detective Brockmeier, Mr. Beaver admitted hitting the vehicle and leaving the scene; at that time he was also issued a citation for driving under a suspended license.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron Joseph Streight, age 27, 415 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Streight was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jun 06 at 12:14 am.

James Louis Antill Jr., age 22, 111 Faye Avenue, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Antill was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jun 06 at 2:40 am.

James Henry Sprague, age 56, 6466 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Sprague was arrested on Glendale Road in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jun 06 at 12:43 pm.

Steven Wayne Rush, age 19, 108 Sunset Drive, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, failure to appear and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Rush was arrested on State Route 550 by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jun 06 at 7:00 pm.

David Marlin Pritchard, age 44, Newport, a fugitive from justice. Pritchard was arrested on Dalzell Road by Detective Brockmeier of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jun 06 at 9:10 pm.
