On 8 Jun 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole was dispatched
to the scene of death of a fifty-six year old Lowell resident.
Investigating the scene, Deputy Stackpole determined the victim
was mowing his pasture near a four foot drop off when his tractor
tumbled over the edge and pinned the victim underneath.
On 8 Jun 06 Toni M. Lang, age 26, 110 Hamilton
Road, Marietta, reported as she drove with her eight year old
daughter on Killwell Run Road, an individual nearly jumped
into the roadway in front of her vehicle. Ms. Lang stated the
individual then began yelling and cursing, scaring her daughter
in the process. This case remains under investigation (945).
On 8 Jun 06 Sgt. Gherke issued a citation
to Jason J. Haught, age 26, 164 Lake Road, Belpre, for driving
under a suspended license. Sgt. Gherke stopped Mr. Haught at
3810 Tick Ridge Road in Fairfield Township.
On 8 Jun 06 an employee of IGA, 38140 State
Route 7, Newport, reported an unknown suspect tampered with
a soft drink machine outside the store and possibly stole from
inside the machine, up to $175. This case remains under investigation
(1020).
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrant:
Derek M. Fortney, age 24, 2208 State Route
339, Belpre, for trafficking in an amount of cocaine between
five and ten grams and for trafficking in an amount of cocaine
between five and twenty-five grams, both on 22 Mar 06.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shane Michael Hardie, age 30, 761 Buckeye
Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, both
misdemeanors. Hardie was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta
by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jun 06 at
5:46 am.
Charles Edward Thomas Jr., age 36, 1345 Cleveland
Avenue, Ashland, OH, for failure to appear, a felony. Thomas
was picked up at the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 8 Jun 06 at 3:38 pm.
Gregory Lynn Wilhelm, age 44, 813 Barclay Street, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Wilhelm was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
8 Jun 06 at 11:39 pm.
