On 1 Jun 06 Frankie D. Sergent, age 28, 1831
McNeal Road, Waterford, reported an unknown subject was attempting
to break into her home through a basement door. Upon closer
inspection, Deputy Sheriff Spencer identified a broken door
jam and pry marks indicative of an attempt to enter the home.
This case remains under investigation.
On 1 Jun 06 Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll issued
a citation to Christopher L. Coe, age 29, 345 Chestnut Street,
Spencer, WV, for driving under an OVI suspended license. Deputy
Coppernoll stopped Mr. Coe on State Route 7 near milepost twelve
in Belpre Township.
On 1 Jun 06 Heather Marcum, age 21, 20350
State Route 7, Beverly, reported her ex-boyfriend grabbed her
shirt and forced her to the ground during a discussion at the
gravel pit on State Route 83. Ms. Marcum’s current boyfriend
arrived to intervene and allegedly strikes the ex-boyfriend
several times. All parties involved declined to pursue the
matter further (296).
On 1 Jun 06 Juda Coleman, age 60, 26115 State
Route 7, Marietta, reported a vehicle crashed into two buildings
on her property and continued into an adjacent field. Deputy
Sheriff Norman arrived to find Jeffrey D. Beymer, age 33, 610
Second Street, Marietta, in the running vehicle and empty beer
cans in the vehicle as well. Swaying side to side as he exited
the vehicle, Mr. Beymer also had bloodshot eyes and refused
to complete field sobriety tests. Though Mr. Beymer claimed
he was not driving, Deputy Norman arrested him for OVI and
transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Jun 06 James T. Rhodes, age 52, 151 Second
Street, Vincent, reported his cellular phone was stolen from
his classroom at Warren High School between 9:45 and 11 am
the previous morning. The school’s assistant principal
identified the possible culprit as a fifteen year old Cutler
resident, who under further questioning admitted taking the
phone because he needed to place several phone calls to friends.
As a result, Lt. Wilson requested a summons for the teenager
to appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
On 1 Jun 06 an employee of Alltell, 47400
Watson Road, St. Clairsville, reported between 15 and 29 May
an unknown suspect(s) cut a hole in a chain link fence and
manipulated several breakers at 392 Warrior Drive, Vincent,
resulting in a loss of cellular service for a period of time.
This case remains under investigation (695).

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shane Michael Hardie, age 30, 761 Buckeye Avenue, Marietta,
for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Hardie was arrested
on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Jun 06 at 12:32 am.
Brian Lee Flesher, age 32, 11 Wheelbarrow Run Road, Marietta,
for failure to appear, menacing and disorderly conduct by fighting,
all misdemeanors. Flesher turned himself in to Corrections
Officer Reeder and was processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Jun 06 at 2:54 am.
Joshua Cleveland Sinkfield, age 34, 1202 County
House Lane Apt. H, Marietta, for .08 breath OVI, driving under
suspension and driving left of center, all misdemeanors. Sinkfield
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 06 at
Joshua Eric Burkhart, age 18, 655 Goose Run Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication and underage consumption
of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Burkhart was arrested on Greene
Street in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Jun 06 at 4:25 am.
Mitchell Lee Greenwood, age 20, 35 Heeter Road, Newport, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Greenwood
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 06 at 8:52
Jeffrey Douglas Beymer, age 33, 610 Second Street, Marietta,
for OVI, a misdemeanor. Beymer was arrested on State Route
7 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Jun 06 at 10:15 pm.
Jason Randall Caldwell, age 34, 204 Melany Lane, Longview,
TX, for OVI, not wearing a seat belt and failure to signal,
all misdemeanors. Caldwell was arrested on Front Street in
Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 2 Jun 06 at 1:50 am.
