On 21 May 06 Dudley E. Brooks, age 57, 1050 Bethel Road, Marietta, reported during the night an unknown suspect(s) broke into a home he is remodeling on State Route 550 and stole a 100 foot extension cord and a space heater. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 21 May 06 Rodney L. Phillis, age 49, 1670 Finkle Hill Road, Beverly, reported sometime since he was at a well site off State Route 83 and Elk Run Road the day before, an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered a sheet metal building and stole a brand new Honda thirteen horsepower engine. This case remains under investigation (1091).

On 21 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans arrested Jason L. Barton, age 28, 106 Coal Run Road, Coal Run, for .08 breath OVI and for driving under a license suspended for not paying child support. Mr. Barton declined to perform field sobriety tests but tested .096% BAC when transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 21 May 06 Sgt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded to the scene of a domestic dispute at 840 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre. While en route, Sgt. Gherke located the suspect’s vehicle on Veto Road and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop Sgt. Gherke questioned Robert J. Cline, age 24, 1043 State Route 339, Belpre, on his odor of alcohol and Mr. Cline answered he drank seven beers in four hours. Mr. Cline also produced a marijuana pipe prior to being transported to his father’s home for questioning on the domestic incident. Mr. Cline’s father, Robert D. Cline, age 47, stated the two argued over the property he owns and where his son resides. Mr. Cline said that his son stomped on his foot and punched him several times in the head, leaving visible injuries. Once the younger Cline confirmed his father’s account of the incident, he was arrested for domestic violence, OVI and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Shane Michael Hardie, age 30, 761 Buckeye Avenue, Marietta, for breach of recognizance and two counts of disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. Hardie was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 2:00 am.

Jason Lee Barton, age 28, 106 Coal Run Hill Road, Coal Run, for OVI and driving under a suspended license, both misdemeanors. Barton was arrested on Coal Run Hill Road by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 2:14 am.

Robert Jeremy Cline, age 24, 1043 State Route 339, Belpre, for OVI, domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Cline was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 3:36 am.

Timothy Wade Cline, age 40, 24689 State Route 26, New Matamoras, for OVI, possession of drugs and driving left of center, all misdemeanors. Cline was arrested on Industrial Lane by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 4:30 am.

Jed Lucas Lessard, age 19, 1532 Nichols Road, Whipple, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lessard was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 9:45 am.

Tony Ray Wise, age 35, 403 39th Street, Vienna, for operating without a license and not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Wise was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 5:39 pm.

Peter Brooks Wharton, age 18, 1722 20th Street, Parkersburg, for OVI and failure to signal, both misdemeanors. Wharton was arrested on State Route 618 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 7:28 pm.

Charles Richard Womack, age 35, 15017 Ridgewood Avenue, Prairieville, LA, for OVI, speeding and not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Womack was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 8:11 pm.

William Robert Harris, age 26, 903 Front Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested on Muskingum Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 06 at 10:22 pm.
