On 19 May 06 Carrie Huglin, age 33, 217 Fourth Street, Beverly, reported she and her children were threatened by a neighbor. While on her porch supervising her four children, Ms. Huglin stated Paul R. Bennett, age 51, 217 Fourth Street, Beverly, appeared and brandished the blade of a box cutter. During that time, Mr. Bennett swung the blade around and repeated that he would cut the children and burn the house down. Believing Ms. Huglin feared for her safety and that of her children, Deputy Sheriff Simmons arrested Mr. Bennett for five counts of aggravated menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 19 May 06 Detective Parks issued a citation to Oliver N. Rose III, age 25, 21 Steelhollow Road, Spencer, WV, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Detective Parks stopped Mr. Rose on State Route 7 at Lockhart Street in Dunham Township.

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation to Joe L. Tritipo, age 26, 7118 Lemaster Road, Athens, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Rhodes stopped Mr. Tritipo on US 50 near Grantsville Road in Belpre Township.

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Billie F. Armstrong, age 68, 485 Bill Armstrong Road, Rinard Mills, for operating a vehicle without functioning brake lights. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Armstrong on State Route 7 near Pearl Street in Pioneer Township.

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Patrick Van Dyke, age 29, 5051 Gunclub Road, Athens, for operating a vehicle without functioning brake lights. Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Van Dyke on US 50 near Collins Road in Belpre Township.

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued a citation to Kayla M. Bittengle, age 20, 53419 Cats Run Road, Powhatan Point, OH, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Norman stopped Ms. Bittengle on US 50 near Drag Strip Road in Belpre Township.

On 19 May 06 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Dana K. Carlson, age 50, 4744 Rhoric Road, Athens, for traveling 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Wilson stopped Ms. Carlson on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Bank Road in Warren Township.

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a citation to David W. Reed Jr., age 41, Route 2 Box 272, Williamstown, for operating a vehicle without functioning brake lights. Deputy Stackpole stopped Mr. Reed on State Route 7 at Gravel Bank Road in Warren Township.

On 19 May 06 Michael Carpenter, age 34, 8395 County Nine Road, Newport, reported a relative of his live-in girlfriend punched him in the head, causing him and his mower to tumble down a hill on the river lot he was mowing. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 19 May 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Charles T. Taylor, age 43, 660 Hendershot Road, Waterford, for driving left of center. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Bittengle on US 50 near Drag Strip Road in Belpre Township.

On 19 May 06 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Cynthia A. Nutter, age 48, 42805 Kaylor Road, Tuppers Plains, for operating a vehicle without functioning brake lights. Lt. Wilson stopped Ms. Nutter on State Route 7 at Gravel Bank Road in Warren Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Benjamin A. Pottmeyer, age 19, 4420 Lowell Hill Road, Lowell, for OVI and underage consumption of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Pottmeyer was arrested on Waterford Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 3:04 am.

Bradley Alan Treadway, age 21, 9572 State Route 550, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Treadway turned himself in to Patrolman Arbaugh at the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 3:29 am.

Chico Maurice Mason, age 31, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 3, Marietta, for public intoxication on a roadway, a misdemeanor. Mason was arrested at Taco Bell by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 4:23 am.

Vickie Marie Thompson, age 23, 300 Starlite Drive Lot 42, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 11:00 am.

Justin Daniel Deems, age 26, 101 Second Street, Vincent, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor. Deems was arrested on Barnett Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 1:00 pm.

Ivy Sue Siley, age 27, 752 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, for failure to appear, a felony. Siley was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 5:35 pm.

Billy Don Cole, age 21, 2011 Washington Boulevard Apt. 2, Belpre, for felonious assault. Cole was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 6:53 pm.

Glen Owen Williams, age 30, 480 Harriett Street, Macksburg, for domestic violence and disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Williams was arrested in Macksburg by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 May 06 at 7:49 pm.
