On 30 Apr 06 Edna Carpenter, age 48, 1925 Creek Road, Stockport, reported after hearing two shots from what sounded like a .22 caliber rifle originating from a wooded area across from her home she noticed the rear glass of her 1978 Lincoln Continental was shattered. This case remains under investigation (1090).

On 30 Apr 06 Linda Caldwell, age 58, 15870 State Route 550, Fleming, reported while she was in Marietta running errands for two hours that afternoon she believes a family member along with an accomplice broke into her home and stole over $500 worth of change. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 30 Apr 06 Barry O. Barton, age 30, 485 Finstermaker Road, Worthington, OH, reported a head gasket, and two seats were stolen from three of four vintage vehicles he owns and that are parked in a field across from 155 Sheets Run Road, Stockport. This case remains under investigation (953).

On 30 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Morris conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Scott A. Legleitner, age 39, 1924 Indian Run Road, Marietta, after observing Mr. Legleitner’s truck swerving on State Route 821 as he approached State Route 60. Noticing two empty beer cans in the truck’s bed as he spoke to Mr. Legleitner, Deputy Morris smelled an odor of alcohol and requested Mr. Legleitner perform field sobriety tests. Following his poor performance on the tests, Mr. Legleitner was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Glen Roger Johnson Jr., age 19, 116 Harmar Street, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 1:40 am.

Larry Joe Wilson, age 43, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 2:05 am.

Thaddeus Jay Sharrett, age 24, 4762 Cressingham Court Apt. B, Columbus, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors. Sharrett was arrested at Marietta College by Officer Moon of the Marietta College Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 2:40 am.

Scott Alan Legleitner, age 39, 1924 Indian Run Road, Marietta, for .08 breath OVI and driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Legleitner was arrested on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 4:40 am.

William Thomas Gilliam, age 42, 306 Smithson Street, Dexter City, for theft and disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Gilliam was arrested on Seventh Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 5:10 am.

James Nathan Carte, age 26, 710 Rhodale Court Apt. 5, Akron, for driving under an FRA suspended license, not wearing a seat belt and failure to obey the right of way, all misdemeanors. Carte was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 06 at 7:08 pm.
