On 22 Apr 06 Sgt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff
Stackpole were dispatched to investigate a possible domestic
dispute reported by a third party. The individuals allegedly
involved along with a witness denied any such incident occurred,
thus this case is closed as unfounded.
On 22 Apr 06 Sgt. Gherke along with Deputy
Sheriffs Rhodes and Simmons responded to a call at 260 Radabaugh
Road, Marietta. Witnesses detailed that James M. Haverty, age
32, 1608 Cleveland Street, Arlington, VA, was distraught over
the fact that his twelve year old dog was fatally ill and had
to be destroyed. The death of the animal combined with the
consumption of a half a bottle of Southern Comfort caused Mr.
Haverty to become very angry and upset. Mr. Haverty proceeded
to scream at family members, enter his vehicle and kick the
windshield, hitting and scratching his head in the process.
As a result of his actions, Mr. Haverty was arrested for disorderly
conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
On 22 Apr 06 Kelly R. Carver, age 44, 108
Lincoln Road, Marietta, reported during the previous night
an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and stole a dozen CD’s.
This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 22 Apr 06 a thirty-five year old Beverly
resident reported when she arrived home from work she noticed
a number of empty beer cans and her sixteen year old daughter
stumbling out of her bedroom. Also present and inebriated were
a seventeen year old male and a fifteen year old female, both
of whom are residents of Lowell and Jeremy D. Curran, age 22,
190 Fourth Street, Beverly. Mr. Curran admitted bringing fifteen
beers and a bottle of Aftershock to his cousin’s apartment
after she told him her mother did not care if they drank alcohol
there. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Morris requested summonses
for the three juveniles to appear in Juvenile Court for being
delinquent and for Mr. Curran to appear in Municipal Court
for furnishing alcohol to a minor.
On 22 Apr 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle he observed travel left of center
then right of the fog line on two occasions. While speaking
to the driver, Neil B. Lucas, age 28, 4416 Larkdale Drive,
Stow, OH, Deputy Sheriff Evans requested and was granted permission
to search Mr. Lucas’s vehicle. During the ensuing search
Deputy Evans located a pill bottle containing 1.6 grams of
marijuana and a marijuana pipe under the passenger seat. In
consequence, Deputy Evans arrested Mr. Lucas for possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chad Daniel McDaniel, age 20, 305 Parsons Hall #213, Marietta,
for underage consumption pf alcohol and theft, both misdemeanors.
McDaniel was arrested on Butler Street by Officer Dietz of
the Marietta College Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 22 Apr 06 at 4:15 am.
Ivan Mark Stein, age 20, 106 Granitor Avenue, Mingo Junction,
OH, for underage consumption pf alcohol and theft, both misdemeanors.
Stein was arrested on Butler Street by Officer Dietz of the
Marietta College Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Apr 06 at 4:15 am.
Neil Bradley Lucas, age 28, 4416 Larkdale Drive, Stow, OH,
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Lucas was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 22 Apr 06 at 10:39 am.
Charles Robert Fath, age 53, Big Lick Run, New Matamoras,
for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license, operating
without license plates, endangering children, possession of
drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, open dumping and burning,
falsification, obstructing official business and contempt of
a court order, all misdemeanors. Fath was arrested at Par Mar
in New Matamoras by Chief Travaglio of the New Matamoras Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
22 Apr 06 at 5:55 pm.
Henry Lee Davis, age 62, 3152 46th Street, Cleveland, for
OVI, failure to reinstate his operator’s license and
driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors.
Davis was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22
Apr 06 at 6:10 pm.
James Matthew Haverty, age 32, 1608 Cleveland Street, Arlington,
VA, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Haverty was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Apr 06
at 9:10 pm.
Mona Crystal Chesnutt, age 46, 12020 Waterford Road, Waterford,
for OVI, driving left of center and failure to comply with
the order/signal of an officer, all misdemeanors. Chesnutt
was arrested on Waterford Road in Waterford by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 22 Apr 06 at 10:30 pm.
