On 17 Apr 06 Deputy Sheriff Simmons investigated the theft of a 1979 ¾ ton Chevy flatbed truck from Timothy E. Wittekind, age 38, 360 East Henniger Road, Lowell. Andrew P. Daugherty, age 28, 3346 Layman Road, Vincent, came to Mr. Wittekind’s residence on 13 Apr 06 to purchase the truck and wrote a check for the agreed price of $2,000. Mr. Wittekind attempted to cash the check later that day but was informed by Wesbanco that the account on which the check was written did not have sufficient funds. Despite Mr. Daugherty’s assertion that the check could be cashed later after he added the necessary funds, Wesbanco told Mr. Wittekind on Monday that the account was closed three days ago. The Ohio State Highway Patrol located Mr. Daugherty in Morgan County where he was arrested for automobile theft and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 17 Apr 06 Melinda Ellison, age 32, 2255 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras, reported being punched in the left eye by her husband Freddie, age 36, after the couple disagreed over whether or not to drive their vehicle home with a flat tire. Voicing his displeasure, Mr. Ellison walked away from the vehicle but returned when the two began to argue, at which time he struck his wife. Deputy Sheriff Eddy confirmed Mrs. Ellison’s story with a witness, arrested Mr. Ellison for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Carla Yvonne Clark, age 21, 183 Robert Kelly Road, Cutler, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Clark was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman Fields of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 1:05 am.

Robert Lucky Patterson, age 23, 424 Third Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Patterson was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 1:20 am.

Daniel Ray Hickman, age 21, 312 Scott Avenue, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hickman was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 8:40 am.

Amber Darlene Hart, age 40, Hillcrest Court Apt. 16, Parkersburg, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Hart was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Detective Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 1:27 pm.

Christina Marie Hower, age 21, 15870 State Route 550, Fleming, for driving under a suspended license and failure to signal, both misdemeanors. Hower was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Detective Schuck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 1:56 pm.

Andrew Perry Daugherty, age 28, 3346 Layman Road, Vincent, for automobile theft, a felony. Daugherty was picked up in Morgan County by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 06 at 10:40 pm.
