On 27 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole initiated
a traffic stop on State Route 7 near Joe Skinner Road for traveling
faster than the speed limit. Noticing the nervousness of the
driver and passenger as he wrote a warning citation, Deputy
Stackpole conducted an exterior search with his canine Aboo.
Aboo indicated the presence of drugs in the trunk area, at
which time the driver, Kyle W. Simons, age 19, 50 Longue Vue
Drive, Pittsburgh, PA, stated there was marijuana and a pipe
in his backpack in the trunk. Deputy Stackpole then arrested
Mr. Simons for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 27 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to David A. Shaffer, age 36, 257 Township Road 231,
South Point, OH, traveling 64 mph in a 20 mph school zone.
Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Shaffer on State Route 7 at Frontier
High School in Grandview Township.
On 27 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins assisted
in a traffic stop initiated when Shaun A. Griffin, age 22,
314 Harmar Street, Marietta, failed to stop at the stop light
at the intersection of Gilman Avenue and Putnam Street in Marietta.
Learning through a computer check that Mr. Griffin’s
license was under a non-compliance suspension, Deputy Jenkins
arrested him and transported Mr. Giffin to the Washington County
Jail.
On 27 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll stopped
a vehicle driven by Christopher N. Mayle, age 26, 11722 State
Route 555, Cutler, for traveling above the school speed limit
of 20 mph on State Route 550 in front of Bartlett Elementary
School. Once Deputy Coppernoll was informed Mr. Mayle’s
license was under drug offense suspension, he was arrested
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kyle Worthington Simons, age 19, 50 Longue Drive, Pittsburgh,
PA, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Simons was arrested on State Route 7 by
Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 Mar 06 at 12:59 am.
David Holly Harper, age 37, 199 Central City Drive, Parkersburg,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Harper was arrested on Putnam Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
27 Mar 06 at 1:46 am.
Bernard Joseph Cleveland, age 28, 703 Elm
Street Apt. C, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Cleveland was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 27 Mar 06 at 11:54 am.
Christopher Neil Mayle, age 26, 11722 State Route 555, Cutler,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Mayle
was arrested in Bartlett by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 06 at 3:05 pm.
Michael Alan Lightfritz, age 25, Caldwell, for two counts
of theft, burglary and receiving stolen property, all felonies.
Lightfritz was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 Mar 06 at 3:26 pm.
Shaun Allen Griffin, age 22, 314 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Griffin
was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff
Jenkins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27
Mar 06 at 9:13 pm.
