On 23 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle turning from Interstate onto northbound State Route 7 forced him to brake to avoid a collision. Detecting an odor of alcohol as he spoke to the driver, Garret F. Lang, age 18, 135 Morris Loop, Marietta, Deputy Evans administered field sobriety tests. Following Mr. Lang’s poor performance on the tests, Deputy Evans arrested him for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrant:

Michael P. Brown, age 23, Nelsonville, OH, for failure to appear for a hearing on 17 Mar 06, having been indicted for aggravated robbery.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Amanda Donn Wharton, age 24, 509 Ferguson Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Wharton was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman Titus of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 1:05 am.

Garret Francis Lang, age 18, 135 Morris Loop, Marietta, for .02 underage breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Lang was arrested on County House Lane by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 2:30 am.

Jason Clemence Shaw, age 20, 1 Campus View Drive, Vienna, for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license and for improper turning, all misdemeanors. Shaw was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 3:25 am.

Roger Dale Kerns, age 48, 926 Main Street, Belpre, for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors. Kerns was arrested on Matheny Avenue in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 9:40 am.

Chasity Dawn Willey, age 29, 634 Eighth Street, Cambridge, for operating without license plates and for failure to reinstate her operator’s license, both misdemeanors. Willey was arrested near milepost nine on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 1:59 pm.

Richard Thomas Seebaugh, age 51, 880 Smith Hill Road, Marietta, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Seebaugh was arrested on State Route 7 by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Mar 06 at 3:05 pm.
