On 5 Mar 06 Sgt. Hiatt responded to the scene
of the death of a fifty year old Belpre resident. The man’s
death appears to be natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 5 Mar 06 Patty Ginther, age 57, 1740 State
Route 550, Bartlett, reported when she awoke that morning and
realized she left her car unlocked she noticed nearly a full
pack of cigarettes and four CD’s missing. This case remains
under investigation (296).
On 5 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins initiated
a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Ernesto R. Guerrero,
age 23, 2470 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, for driving left
of center and off the right side of State Route 26. After learning
Mr. Guerrero’s license expired last year Deputy Mankins
administered field sobriety tests due to Mr. Guerrero’s
odor of alcohol. Following Mr. Guerrero’s poor performance
on the tests Deputy Mankins arrested him for OVI and for operating
with an expired license and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 5 Mar 06 Deputy Rhodes conducted a traffic
stop on Righteous Ridge Road after observing the license plate
light on the vehicle he was following was not illuminated.
Speaking to the driver, Michael L. Boyd, age 20, 2202 Harvey
Avenue, East Liverpool, OH, Deputy Rhodes noticed him acting
nervously as well as an odor of alcohol. Despite his claim
of not consuming alcohol on that date Mr. Boyd performed poorly
on field sobriety tests and declined taking a portable breath
test. In consequence, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Boyd for OVI
and transported him to the Washington County Jail. Also cited
as a result of the stop were Bryan D. Phelps, age 20, 192 Third
Street, Lowell, and a sixteen year old Lower Salem resident.
The two admitted they just left a keg party in Lowell where
they each consumed alcoholic beverages. Therefore, Deputy Rhodes
requested summonses for Mr. Phelps and the sixteen year old
for underage consumption of alcohol and juvenile delinquency,
respectively.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Lee Boyd, age 20, 2202 Harvey Avenue, East Liverpool,
OH, for OVI and for having faulty equipment, both misdemeanors.
Boyd was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 06 at
1:51 am.
Ernesto Rincon Guerrero, age 23, 2470 Pleasant Ridge Road,
Marietta, for OVI and for operating without a license, both
misdemeanors. Guerrero was arrested on State Route 26 by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 5 Mar 06 at 2:34 am.
John William Ohlinger, age 32, 36421 State Route 143, Pomeroy,
for OVI and driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both
misdemeanors. Ohlinger was arrested on State Route 7 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Mar 06 at 3:59 am.
Dana Michelle Pierce, age 35, 8670 Sherman Road, Chesterland,
OH, for OVI, speeding and endangering children, all misdemeanors.
Pierce was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar
06 at 7:25 am.
Gina Marie Loy, age 19, 103 Muskingum Terrace Apt. 100F, Marietta,
for felonious assault. Loy was arrested at Muskingum Terrace
by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 06 at
3:40 pm.
Drew T. Lautenschlager, age 31, 21 Rivers Point Row Apt. 8D,
Charleston, SC, for driving under an FRA suspended license
and speeding, both misdemeanors. Lautenschlager was arrested
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 06 at 5:58 pm.
